Daddy's Glare and Mama's Approval

Raph Pov~

"You're part of a gang?!" I turned to Meabh growling making sure my family was behind me. I may like Meabh, a lot, but my family always come first.

Meabh's eye widened for a second before she sighed. "It's not like that Raph. I promise neither you nor your brothers will be hurt here." I glared at her.

"Why should I trust you? You're part of the enemy!"

She looked at me confused, "The enemy? Raph what are you talking about? I may be part of a gang because of my parents but I'm not an enemy! This may be a gang but we're good people. Most of what we do is protect this small part of town from other gangs and take care of runaways."

I stared at her. "Wait... What?"

Meabh sighed, "The White gang's main purpose is to keep this part of the city safe. We keep other gangs out and take care of the people living on the streets. The only time we ever really do anything gang related is when we fight other gangs trying to take over our territory or need to 'take care' of someone the local police can't touch."

I really didn't know how to respond to that so instead I just slowly moved to the side allowing my brothers to move from behind me. I nodded softly to Meabh causing her to smile in relief. Her father moved in front of us.

"Ok boys follow me." He said walking away. My brothers and I hesitated for a moment.

"Keep up boys. You don't want to get lost in here." Meabh's father said as he kept walking through the crowd of men. Meabh took my arm as we walked. I watched her, taking in the way that she was perfectly at ease here. I smiled slightly. Who knew she was such a catch. Not only is she beautiful and strong, but she's also the daughter of a gang leader... I wonder if she likes us tough guys...

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. Of course she wouldn't like me. I'm a freak. Even if I am in human form now. Once a freak, always a freak. I scowled and kept following Meabh's father to a back room. I allowed Leo and my other brothers to go first as I watched the men around us for threats. Once I was sure we were safe I went into the room myself.

Inside was.. A small house? I looked around in wonder. We had just walked into a small living room connected to an equally small kitchen.

Meabh's father walked to a small table and sat down. "Make yourselves comfortable boys." He said. Meabh pulled me forward to the couch and once we sat down my brothers followed. Meabh's father looked at us again. "My name's Jairo. Call me that and nothing else. Now why are you kids here?"

"The school was attacked." I stated. "We were weary to go home since they were following us."

Jairo nodded, "hmmm... Ok then." He then leaned forward and glared at me and my brothers. "Now What is your relationship with my daughter?"

"Daddy!" Meabh tried to protest but her father gave her a look and she kept quiet.

"We're friends from school sir." Leo replied trying to use his perfectness to convince Jairo we weren't a threat to his daughter. Meabh's father looked at Leo and seemed to glare at him even more.

"Smart mouth. Your opinion doesn't matter."

I laughed. I couldn't help it. Not only was that the first time someone had called Leo out for being a smart mouth but it was the first time someone denied him the leader role. Jairo turned to me as I laughed and watched me critically. Once I stopped laughing I stared back at him and smirked. "None of us have touched her, if that's what you're trying to get at." I said.

Meabh's father stood up and walked towards me. "Oh? Do you-!!!" Suddenly the man was tackled to the ground.

"Baby! You're Home!!" A women was on top of the ex-gang leader and hugging him around his neck.

"Honey. Can't you see I was-"

"Scaring our guests? Yes, yes, I saw that, but you do that every day. Besides!" She said getting up. "It's so rare for Meabh to bring guys over!" She turned to us and I instantly knew she was Meabh's mother. The women smiled kindly. "Hi! I'm Roisin, Meabh's mother. It's a pleasure to meet you all! Now tell me your names."

We stared at her for a moment, while Meabh's father gave us one last glare walked to the kitchen and Meabh herself hid her now red face and was staring at the ground as if she was hoping it would eat her.

"I'm Raph." I stated, then pointed to my brothers. "That's Leo, Donnie, and Mikey."

Meabh's mother nodded. "Wonderful! Now which one of you are dating Meabh?"

"Mom!"

"Oh hush dear. I wasn't talking to you." She turned back to us. "Soo?"

Donnie spoke up, "Actually mam, none of us are dating your daughter. We're just friends."

Meabh's mother pouted, "Oh fuwee... I was hoping to have grandkids..."

"MOTHER!" Meabh stood up completely red from embarrassment.

"What? It's true!" Her mother laughed. Meabh started to push her mother towards the door.

"Out! Now!" Pushing her mother out the door Meabh tried to close the door but her mother jarred it with her foot.

"Aww dear. It's no reason to be embarrassed. But if it was up to me I would pick the strong one that you were sitting by. You two would make lovely babies!" Meabh slammed the door on her mother and leaned against it. "I can still talk through the door you know." Her mother's voice said.

"No you can't! Shut up!" Meabh then turned to us blushing. "Forget everything you just heard."

I smiled at her and chuckled. "Sorry doll face, but that is engraved in our minds forever."

Meabh was about to retort when her mother spoke up again. "There's condoms under the sink!"

My brother's and I went red. Meabh Went bright red and walked towards us. "I think it's safe to leave. Come on we're leaving."

I got up and followed Meabh to another door that lead outside to the street. We walked until we got to our house. Meabh stopped at the bottom of the steps. "Sorry about my family." She said. "They can be a bit extreme."

I smiled and put my hand on her head. "Don't worry about it doll face. It was fun to meet the people that raised you."

Meabh smiled. "Thanks." She started to leave.

"Wait!"

She turned. "Yeah?"

"Umm... do you.. can I... we- we should eat sometime."

Meabh stared at me for a while. "Eat?" I nodded and kept my face down. Suddenly Meabh smiled. "Well that depends."

I looked at her. "On what?"

She smiled, "On whether it's a date or not."

Catching her drift I smiled back at her, "Meabh, Would you go out on a date with me?"

"Yes. I would love to."
