This will be a short chapter about Summer...
Summer Holmes was a very sweet woman.
She has always been nice to every person she came across and it was very hard for people to dislike her because of how sweet she was.
Summer had this energy about her where people gravitated towards her.
Her parents were both doctors and she was blessed with a privileged life where she didn't have to worry for anything.
She never took anything for granted whether it was having food to eat or having lights every night.
Her parents always taught her to appreciate the stuff she has.
She had a sister that was only a year older than her and lived down the street from her. Her name was Francesca and they were very close.
Unfortunately, her parents passed away when her and her sister were in college. They were murdered by a man that broke into their house and when they tried to defend themselves, the burglar shot them both and they died instantly.
She didn't know that her parents left her and her sister everything they had including their house, money, cars and many more of their possessions.
Her and her sister agreed to sell the house because it was too hard for them to stay in the house their parents were murdered in. The house was bought by her parent's best friends.
Right after her parents died, her mom's parents died. Even though they were both very sick, she didn't expect them to die so suddenly.
In Summer's junior year of college, she got a boyfriend named Rick.
She thought they were going to be together for a long time. Once they both graduated, he changed. He started hitting her and cheating on her. She tried to leave him numerous times, but he always found her and would beat her even worse.
One day, he flipped. He beat her so bad that she was in a coma for 2 months. Her sister found her in her apartment and called the police. Rick was arrested and there was a trial. He was sentenced to 20 years for attempted murder.
This was almost 5 years ago, but it did still affect her in her relationships now.
There were many tragedies in Summer's life, but she always said to herself, "People have it much worse."
Also, I wanted to say if you guys imagine any of the characters in the story as different people, other than the people I picked for the characters, that's okay. Picking what the characters look like helps me as the author. You can imagine the characters to look like whatever you would like.
