Chapter Six

I open my eyes to Ella and Lucas staring down at me, worried. "Finally you woke up!" Ella breathes. There are dark circles under both of their eyes, and their hair is messed up. Ella looks like she tried to sleep but couldn't. Lucas looks-Lucas looks, well. He looks hot. Literally. His eyes have a passionate fire lit behind them. His face is red and droplets of sweat cover his forehead. He has been intensely staring at me ever since I woke up, not saying a word.

I sit up carefully, and groan. I gingerly touch the back of my head and wince. I pull my hand back. A sticky red liquid coats my fingers. Ella winces and explains, "You may have underestimated your teleportation powers. You focused on the trees, didn't you?" I nod. "Yeah. You have to focus on the ground, so you teleport onto the ground. You focused on the trees, so you appeared in the trees. You fell out of them, and hit your head on the way down. Luckily, Lucas and I were able to stop your fall." Lucas still hasn't said a thing. He is still just staring at me hungrily.

Then, Lucas finally croaks, "I-I thought you were dead." I look at him in surprise and smile. Pain shoots through my head as I lean forward, but I didn't care. I wrap my arms around Lucas and give him a hug. Then he surprises me even more. He does give me a hug, but then, he pulls apart and then pulls my face towards his. We sit there for a minute, just staring at each other. I notice that he has a speck of gold in his warm brown eyes. I also detect a slight curve in his lips and a small scar on the right side of his lips. Then, he moves closer to me. He fingers my lips and caresses my cheek. Lucas wraps his warm hand around my neck and pulls me closer to him. We tilt our heads slightly and lean towards each other.

Our noses and foreheads bump and we chuckle a bit, then lean even nearer to each other. Our lips touch, and I melt onto him. He wraps his arms around me and move them up and down my torso. I run my hands and fingers through his thick brown hair and pull him towards me. He falls back onto the ground and takes me with him. We take small breaks to catch our breath, but then quickly go back in for more. I love the feel of his soft lips pressed against mine. After what seems like forever, we stop. We lay there, panting. "Lucas!" I gasp. I lay my head on his chest and listen to his spiked heart beat.

He holds my head close to his chest and runs his fingers through my hair. "Oh Emma." He looks down at me and smirks. "I have been wanting to do that ever since I laid my eyes on you." My cheeks are blazing fires.

Ella comes running up. "Ummm. Sorry to interrupt," she grins, then grows worried. "But we have a huge problem."
