Two shy people met, only speaking a few words to each other, although their interaction was short-lived, they both enjoyed it. The girl slowly comes out of her shell, being more adventurous and trying new things. but the boy, he stays shy and sheepish, always avoiding big social events, not wanting to interact. Until the two meet again, this time at a party, she was smiling wide, her short dress riding up her thighs, he had been watching her the whole night, remembering their small encounter. He had been wanting to greet the girl since his friends and him had arrived but he was too shy, it was until his friend introduced them to each other again, the boy thanking him quietly. She immediately remembered him, soon turning into her old timid self when they first met.
Blushes, timid smiles and soft mumblings of sentences were exchanged between the two. They also exchanged numbers, although the girl knew she wouldn't be texting him anytime soon as she would be too shy to do so. Neither would he, as he was the same as the timid girl. Their friends had thought of them as the perfect couple, not just because of their shyness, but how they both were exactly alike to each other. And as predicted, they dated. She taught him to be more adventurous and outgoing, to try new things too. They bonded over quiet reading sessions in the comfort of their own home, but also, hiking with friends to the highest mountain they could get to.
Things didn't last long though, although their many traits that were alike to each other, they got annoyed. She always went partying, he always stayed home. Her many attempts to try and lure him out of his shell, she failed, finally giving up. His many attempts at trying to get the girl back to her own shy, antisocial self, like himself, he failed, finally giving up also. "You never go out!" And "You always go out!" Were always shouted in the shared house of the two.
One day they had an argument, the girl storming out half way through, not wanting to listen to the boy's useless words. Had she known that night she would've been leaving, she wouldn't have drunk so much alcohol. She had been doing that a lot more often lately, after every argument the two had, she always had a vodka or a beer, soon getting out of hand. Dizzy, the girl walked, swaying side to side, not paying attention to lights or signs. She crossed the road, her body colliding with an oncoming car. That night, the boy hurriedly drove to the hospital, once arriving, the doctor had claimed that she was in a coma. the boy silently cried, never leaving her side.
Several days later, she woke up, the boy wasn't there though. He was off working but once the hospital called him, he dropped everything and drove to the hospital where he was informed that the girl had suffered with amnesia. He sighed, not wanting to enter the room. He waited hours for her to wake up, but now that he had been told that she didn't remember the few happy memories they had together, he finally realized this was his way to not cause her anymore trouble. So, he left, without saying a word. Her family were confused, the couple hadn't told her family about their daily struggles with each other, they chose to keep it locked away, to keep her parents happy. He begged them to no longer mention his name to their daughter, and they agreed, saddened, but agreed.
They met. They met again, at the same cafè they always met up at on Sundays, after church. He had been shocked once her form walked through the doors, instead of greeting her, he hid out back where the other co-workers were. He didn't want to be recognized, even though she might not have remembered him. Once she left with what she used to always order, he came back out, greeting the customers happily, and soon forgetting about the girl he fell in love with.
Someone above had given him another chance to start fresh, but he kindly declined, knowing he was only trouble to the innocent girl he once knew.
Her on the other hand, knew everything about her non-existent boyfriend. She had never seen any pictures as he made sure to rid of all evidence about their relationship. She had thought that he was selfish for leaving her at the state she most needed him, but what she didn't know was that, he was being selfless.
