Harry's POV - 11:24 P.M.; Rooftop.

"Wait a minute," I cut her off, "You ran? Your best childhood friend who you haven't seen in ages is coincidentally in America, in California, in the same school as you, in the same class as you... and all you could do was run?"

"Ugh," She fell back and hid her face.

"Why didn't you say anything to him? Why didn't you go out for lunch and like catch up or something?"

"You don't get it," She sighed, "It's much more complicated than that."

"Let me guess," I smiled, "He was your little boyfriend back in the day and you broke his heart so now it's awkward."

"You're wrong," She laughed.

"Then correct me," I inisisted.

Ani took a moment before replying, "He was my first and best friend when my dads took me in and um.. his grandfather.. I remember him to be a very strict man. I didn't know why his grandfather hated me and my dads so much until I grew older and learned what 'homophobic' meant," She laughed lightly as if it wasn't a big deal. Though, I know it impacts her a lot.

"And what happened?" I asked quietly.

"Umm," She coughed before covering her eyes with her hands, "Will was hit by a car when he was riding his bike to the hospital to see me and visit uncle Zayn. His grandfather was so angry and didn't want me to see him but um I was given the chance to talk to Will for a couple of minutes."

"What did you guys talk about?" I asked after she took too long to keep explaining.

"Not much," She spoke softly. I could tell she was fighting the tears and didn't want to show how much pain she has held in for so long, "Considering the fact that he didn't even remember who I was and told me that even if he did know me, he would never be my best friend."

I was disappointed in myself when all I could say was, "Oh."

"It wasn't a big deal," She laughed as a single tear finally dropped.

I slowly sat her up and wrapped my arms around her. I kissed her temple which before asking, "Well it looks like he got his memory back."

"That's what I'm confused about," She wiped the rest of the tears, "How could I carry on a conversation with him like nothing happened? He didn't remember me but now he does? It's all too much to take in."

"Baby steps," I ran my fingers through her hair, "Baby steps, Ani."

"Harry?"

"Yeah?"

"Why did you think that if Will and I were together that I'd be the one to break his heart?"

I made sure our eyes met before answering,

"Because you're too intelligent and strong to let anyone break yours."

Ani's POV - Saturday, 9:30 A.M.

"No class today?" I asked Haz.

"Nope," He smiled, "How about you?"

We stood back to back in the storage room as we organized the new delivery. The smell of fresh and beautiful flowers brought a sense of joy to my heart.

"Me either," I answered, "Did you even go to class yesterday?"

"Yeah," He nodded, "After Louis left."

I quickly turned around, "What?"

"I said-"

"I heard what you said, Harry. Louis? That guy? You saw him again? What happened?" I poked his waist, making him turn around to face me.
