We drove in silence for a while, and finally pulled into a driveway. We exited the car and stumbled over to the door.

She took out her key and unlocked the door. We made our way upstairs and into a bedroom.

"You're sleeping here tonight," she said. I just nodded.

"I'll first take a shower, and then you can," she said, already taking off her clothes as she walked into the bathroom. I just collapsed onto the bed, exhausted to the point where I couldn't think.

A few minutes passed, and the door opened slowly. The girl sauntered out in shorts and a t-shirt, and I couldn't help but watch her every move. I couldn't help but notice her puffy black eye, and somehow she still looked extremely attractive. I watched as she flipped her head over and rolled it in the towel. She smiled up at me.

"Come on babe, it's your turn," she said.

"Right," I replied, slowly getting off the bed and dragging my feet to the shower.

I stripped off my clothes and got in. As I looked at myself fully naked, I realized how battered I was. There were too many bruises to count. I quickly washed my hair and body, excited by the fact that the girl was waiting for me. I finished and threw a towel over my body, then walked out of the bathroom.

"Would you mind if I borrowed some clothes?" I asked, batting my eyes at her, "Unless you would rather I slept naked."

"That won't be necessary tonight," she giggled and threw me shorts and a t-shirt, which said "So Goth I'm Dead" on it.

I turned around so my back was facing her, and dropped the towel. I didn't think she was looking away, and had a full view of my ass as the shorts slowly made their way up my legs. Next I pulled on the shirt and dried my hair.

I turned off the light and crawled into the bed next to her where she was motioning for me to lay down. She threw her arms around me. We laid down and had almost drifted off to sleep when I realized something.

I hopped out of bed and turned on the light. She rolled over and opened her eyes, squinting at me.

"Is something the matter?" She asked, her words were all slurred and her dark, curly hair was messy, she looked so adorable when she was tired.

"Look, I know you're tired, but I simply cannot rest until I know more about you," I explained.

"What would you like to know?" She asked.

"I want to know everything," I said with a smile.

"Well we may not have time for that tonight, but I can tell you a little bit," she said with a yawn.

She was now sitting up with her legs spread apart, and I took this opportunity to sit right between her legs. I rested my head on her breasts as she wrapped her arms around my stomach. She began to speak and I listened eagerly.

"When I was a sophmore in high school, I began dating this guy, he was a year younger than me and went to a different school, but he made me feel special. He told me we would always be together. That we would run away and start a new life wherever we wanted. We could follow our dreams in the music industry. I thought I loved him. His name was Barrie James O'Neil."

I gasped. How was this possible? Barrie had been dating her the same time as me, how could I think he had actually loved me?

"One day, Barrie invited me over to his house. I was so excited, I thought it was going to be so romantic because it was our anniversary. I got to his house, there was no one home other than us. I remember sitting at the table, and he got up to get the meal he said he had made for us. He came back with a wooden baseball bat, he must have hit me in the head with it, because I blacked out. I woke up and I was tied to his bed. He told me we were over, he had found someone new. After that h-he....." And she trailed off.

I had a feeling I knew what Barrie had done to her. I turned around so I was straddling her. She sat up with me on her lap, and rested her head on my shoulder. She buried her angelic face in my hair, and sobbed. I stroked her hair and rubbed her back. She wrapped her hands around my waist as I soothed her.

"You're beautiful darling, and there is nothing he can do to change that," I murmured into her ear.

Eventually she calmed down.

"Thank you," she whispered, "I have been holding that in for about 12 years," I nodded in empathy.

"I'll finish telling you what happened," she went on, "After what I went through with Barrie, I didn't want it to happen to anyone else. I found out you were his girlfriend. I knew I had to keep you safe. Those years you spent with him, I kept close. I even made sure to go to your prom, I figured that would be when he would try something, and I was right. You know the rest of the story from there. " I nodded. Yes, I knew the story from there. And I didn't want to relive it tonight as she had had to.

"I'm sorry for what you had to go through with that dick," I mumbled. She looked into my eyes.

"I'm just glad I kept you safe that day," she whispered.

I hugged her fiercely, and was now laying on top of her on the bed.

"I just have one more question," I said.

"Mmm?" She was drifting off.

"What's your name?" I asked.

She smiled.

"My name is Marina."

And with that, we fell asleep in each others' arms
