(Some chapters will be Before, During or After Of Runt. It will be labeled with the chapter.)
Not many words have been said of me. Everyone has embraced the fact of the new Alpha since my father bailed out on his job. He let down his pack, left us weak. Of course I'm more then capable to run this pack without any mate but some waver at the thought of being Lunaless.
My brother is standing with his friends. The pretty blonde and Wren, who looks upset. "What did I do!" The girl screams at Wren.
"Wren you need to leave," my brother says before he steps beside the blonde. Wren glances at her before walking away.
"Archer?" My mother asks as she joints me at the edge of the woods.
"Yes?"
"They are ready to speak to you," she says looking back behind her to a group of mostly older men. All are looking for some way to use my inexperience to their gain. They won't.
Once I join the group they all address me in unison. I only really know one, Carl. He is about my age and we are friends, I guess. Tall, slender, dark. Most Alphas don't want to deal with Carl but there isn't much to be afraid of if you just respect him.
"Alpha," a blonde man says walking to me. He reeks of blood, possibly training?
"Yes?" I ask. You can tell most Alphas are annoyed but pack comes first.

Carl sits at my dining table with a sigh. He seems to be holding something back. I hear a loud girlish scream. "Victor!"
"Ignore it. It's just his friend," mom says handing Carl a bowl of soup. She gives him a smile. "You think she would kill him but boy has she saved him."
"What do you mean? Wrens girl?" I ask. She chuckles before shaking her head.
"She's the girl who found Victor at the pond. Best damn tracker I've ever seen at that age," she says shaking her head.
"We have some private stuff to speak about," Carl says. My mom nod her head before go away to do what she does.
"What's wrong?"
"The witches my pack protect have a book. Their head Warlocks family spell book. Powerful stuff."
"David, I remember. He's always a trickster but a great man." Carl nods his head in agreement but setting a rather huge book on the table. A witches spell Book.
"They are apart of this too Archer. Help me find a place to put it were it can be safe. There are spells no one should ever provoke. You don't even have to be a witch. There is a spell for summoning a demonic assassin, that you could do. What we do Archer isn't a game. I told you that before you joined me."
"I know. It will be safe here until you can find a better place," I say picking it up. He stands up for shaking my hand and going back to the packhouse. I stand in the archway of the dining room and living room.
The blond walks downstairs with a grim look. "You okay?"
She jump before grabbing a book to sling at me. I dodge it making her put her hand to her chest. I'm sure she doesn't know who I am, Alpha I mean. "You scared the crap out of me," she whispers almost blandly. I touch the ends of my shoulder length hair In thought.
"Is there something wrong?"
"Do you know Wren?" She asks almost timidly.
"Yeah, dedicated fighter," I say as she wraps her arms around herself.
"Would he ever intentionally hurt someone?"
"Did he hit you?" I ask as my anger spikes.
"No. He may have hit my father though. Never mind, it's stupid." She says walking back upstairs.
Who is she? I see her with Vic all the time but they never told me her name. She is so pretty I'm sure I won't ever forget who she is.
