I asked the mysterious Caleb to get something to eat after school that day.
I know, sudden, but I had to know him.
He was so beautiful. So breathtaking. He said yes by the way. To go eat.
That's where we're going right now.
Little did I know he had money. We were in his car. His Audi. I've never been in a car so nice. I will have to call to tell Caroline as soon as I get home. She will love this.
We went to a little restaurant by the beach.
I got chicken salad and frozen lemonade.
He got a burger and fries. We sat there and talked about nothing important. Yet I had never concentrated so much in my life. His voice was mesmerizing. I just wanted him to keep talking and I just wanted to listen.
We talked about our family, why we both lived in North Carolina, we never ran out of things to talk about.
After we finished eating Caleb asked me to walk on the beach with him.
We walked all the way up and down the beach around 10 times. We talked some more.
Then he stopped. This was when I saw who he really was. I thought I was brave and intimidating. But when he spun me around to face him and he stared into my eyes, it was enough to make me crumble to the ground.
His hands extended out to reach mine.
"I like you Gretchen. I know we just met today but I've never met anyone like you. I feel like I need to be close to you."
"Let me be close to you" he said demandingly yet with question in his voice. I leaned in then.
He closed the gap between us.
He kissed me.
At first the kiss was sweet and slow. Then it became urgent and needed.
We needed each other. I needed his lips on mine. He needed mine on his. It was near perfect. I love this boy. This boy I met only hours ago.
*AUTHORS NOTE*
