Dedicated to Shan and Ally-kins: without your persistence, this would literally not exist.

A/N: This is a Gift!fic for two of my friends who absolutely ship this ship. AKA I'm the most casual KPOP fan to ever fan. Anyways, whether you care about that or not, thanks for clicking on this story and I hope you enjoy! :)

PS. I will mostly be using their real names for this fic, I feel it's better to use it than their stage names, considering the setting.

BY ROYAL DECREE,

A ball will be held a week from today for the

Honourable Prince's birthday.

All eligible maidens are cordially invited

And may bring an escort if she

So desires.

Once the Royal Decree had been announced, business in the town centre rose to new heights. All eligible maidens-especially those who came from a lower class- were excited at the prospect of meeting the prince. They tittered around all the clothing shops, comparing fabrics and inspecting all the finest jewelry that they could afford.

No young maiden was excited for the ball more than Tiffany. Tiffany rushed through the crowd as she gripped tightly to her cousin's arm. Her cousin Jeong-guk, kept up with her, although he had to apologize to many people when he bumped into them. As they neared the outskirts of the center, Tiffany stopped in front of a quaint little shop.

"You should slow down next time." Jeong-guk said as he pulled away from her grip.

"Sorry! It's just I really need to go to that ball!" Tiffany exclaimed and pouted slightly. Jeong-guk's face remained impassive.

"Anyways," Tiffany said, and turned to face the shop's sign. "Could you be my escort to the ball?" She asked, an innocent smile making its way onto her face.

"Sure." Jeong-guk responded as he pushed past her and opened the door. At Tiffany's squeals of gratitude, he allowed himself a small smile. Jeong-guk just hoped he wouldn't regret this decision.
