I skated for quite a while, going over the same routine but changing up a couple things here and there each time until I found the perfect routine. I stopped and finally noticed the family of four watching me so I skate over to get my water bottle but I'm presented with a cup of hot chocolate instead.
"Y-you were amazing," Lily stutters with a light blush.
I take the cup from her and sip it, "Thanks, you can't tell anybody about me practicing here though, I mean you can tell people I was here but don't tell them what you saw me do," I say then look down at a little boy with a phone who was watching a video he just took of me. I take the phone then delete the video and return it, "I can't risk you posting that online, sorry kid."
"Aww, but I would have gotten so many new followers!" he complains.
"Henry! What did I tell you about taking my phone without asking?" his mother frowns.
I chuckle and set the coco down, "How about just a photo instead? You can tell all your friends that you met me," I say.
He nods then I pick him up and we take a selfie together before I set him back down and he posts that instead. His mother apologizes then introduces herself and her husband.
"Thanks for letting me use your rink, Mr. and Mrs. Kirishima, I'll be sure to recommend it to my friends," I say.
"You can come back and use the rink anytime you like, we don't get many customers!" Lily says.
I pat her head and ruffle her hair a bit, "I promise to pay next time so you don't go out of business," I say then wink.
Her face gets redder than before and she runs out, Mr. Kirishima chuckles.
"Sorry, she's a big fan of yours, she has posters all over her room," he says.
"Sounds more like a super fan, and I guess you're the embarrassing dad?" I joke.
He and his wife laugh, "I embarrass her whenever I can," he jokes back.
I step out of the rink and put the blade guards back on, "I should get going, my new housemates will be mad when they find out that I snuck away," I say then change back into my sneakers.
"Visit anytime you like, the doors will always be open," Mrs. Kirishima says.
I wave to them then leave with my stuff, leaving my skates in their care and snapping to the beat of a different song before I run into someone.
"Oh, sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," I say then look up and my heart drops to my stomach.
Reiji glares down at me over his glasses, "No one said that you could leave the property, you should expect a severe punishment when we get home," he says.
"I just needed to practice my skating, I'm a figure skater, not a housewife," I say.
He moves his hand too fast for me to see and has it around my throat in a flash.
"You are not to talk back to me, I can kill you whenever I please," he says.
I gasp for air and pry at his hand, frowning, "You're arrogant because you have money to cover your tracks so you can do what you please," I say with a strained voice.
That certainly didn't help me in the slightest, fury glinted in his eyes as he tightened his grip before finally letting go and making me drop to my knees.
