it was an unspoken rule to never fall for someone you can't have.
so it would be that a broken heart
would always fall for the one thing it couldn't have.and for her, she managed to break the unspoken rule with a tension so big that it would act as a voice between them.
for she with her broken heart, and he with his in mending,
spoke without words,
but rather with actions.small smiles exchanged in conversation,
little laughs when no one was looking,
and her favorite, little songs shared between them, acting as an 'i love you,' that would never be said.but one day she broke, and in return she got nothing but silence;
a silence that tortured her day after day that nothing could fill.until one day,
he said it.out came the words she thought she'd never hear,
'you're safe. i'm right here.'
and that was when she knew for sure
she'd broken the rule,she'd fallen for someone she couldn't have.
but in return, he mended her broken heart;wasn't that enough?
