Hey there! 3rd chapter here it goes. Enjoy :) <3This morning I wake up and decide to explore the rest of the town.
I quickly run into "Carl's Bait and Boat Shop" next to a large lake surounded by the massive population of trees. I walk into the store to look around a bit and am welcomed by an older woman in her 60s sitting behind the counter. Her cheeks are rosy with a sweet smile.
"I don't think I know you, are you a tourist?" She asks.
"No, I actually just moved here,"
"Oh really? What is your name?"
"Everyn, and yours?"
"Annie nice to meet ya. My husband Carl and I been runnin this business for years. Looking for anything specific?" Said Annie.
"No thank you, I have actually never been fishing before. I was just looking," I say with a nervous chuckle.
"Well its nice to meet someone new. You've never fished before? Remember to swing by when you do it, I'll give you a discount on whatever you get. Anyways, I am here if you need anything sweet pea" She grins.
I smile and say "thank you" before walking through the shop to the outside doc area with all the boats. The large glistening lake was only a few yards down. I could see a fisherman or two out there waiting to catch something.
Across the lake I could hear the bass of music thumping and people chattering.
That must be the party Dan was talking about at Cammies Café...
I stand there contemplating on whether I should go or not. Would it be weird if I check it out? He did invite me and he is right about me needing to make friends.
But I barely know him. I don't know maybe its too weird.
I say a good bye to Annie and leave the shop. Walking down the forest pathway to the other side of the lake.
As I get closer to the party I see a few cars pull up. Some dudes jump out with innertubes, noodles and packs of coke a cola.
They run through the trees to the lake area where a large group of people is excited to see them. Once they exchange high fives and hugs the whole group runs down to the lakewater to join the huge party.I smile a bit when I see how much fun they seem to be having. I figure I won't really have that much fun without knowing anyone. Maybe I will just come back next time.
I start to turn around and leave when I bump into something hard and find myself flying onto the dirty ground.
I gasp at the burning sensation on my elbows.
"Damn I'm sorry, are you okay?" The person helps me up as I rub my elbows.
I quickly brush the dirt off of my shorts as I stand up. "Yeah, I am fine thank y-"
"Muffin girl?" Said the person.
My eyes move from my dirty shorts to the familiar smiley brown eyes I'd met a day ago. My cheeks immediately turn warm with embarrassment.
"H-hey sorry, its Dan right?" I stutter.
"Yeah haha. You weren't about to leave right?" He asks.
"No no I was just um looking around haha "
"Ah- welll I was actually sorta hoping you would drop by" he said rubbing the back of his neck. His eyebrows furrow upward and he looks instantly adorable.
"Oh um, really? Well I guess I am glad I came then"
"Come with me," I follow him and we begin to walk side by side on a short walk through the woods to the lakeside where the party is.
