Your adventure starts here.

【=◈︿◈=】

The trip into the city was much longer than the two of you had expected. You both were tired from walking for nearly three hours, the city slowly getting bigger as you got closer. Both of your paces began to slow down of exhaustion.

Porter collapsed in the grass, giving out a sigh as he landed face-first, "I need a break."

You plopped down next to him, landing in your back and looking up at the clouds, "Me too..."

You put an arm over your eyes, shielding out the sun and closing your eyes. You wondered how much longer this was going to take. Your legs felt weak, and you both were running low on water. You hoped you would reach the city in at least another hour or two.

Porter yawned, rubbing his eyes, "I'm so thirsty..."

"Me too." You groaned, "But we need to save the rest of the water for when we really need it."

"I know," He sighed, "I'm sure when we reach the city we'll be able to stock up on liquids and... food other than weird fruits."

"Ugh now you got my mouth watering." You hummed.

Porter chuckled, "At least your mouth isn't dry now."

You smiled and sat up, taking out a couple fruits, "Here, this should hold us up for awhile, it's got juicy liquids too."

Porter thank you and took a huge bite, eating the whole thing in a matter of minutes. You raised an eyebrow at him with a smirk, impressed with his speedy consumption.

"What?" He asked innocently, looking up at you.

"Nothing," You held back a laugh, "Let's get going, maybe we'll be able to get there before dark."

...

Well your guess wasn't wrong at least.

You finally reached the city right at the beginning of sunset.

The lights were shining brightly in all sorts of colors as you walked through. It reminded you a lot of New York City, but instead of a Coca-Cola ads being displayed on multiple big screens that the whole city could see, weird, foreign, alien-like foods were shown, and surprisingly in english too.

People with strange clothing walked around the city with briefcases, purses, and backpacks. Some with a colorful tint to their skin like blue and green, but still very human-like. Their clothing had bright colors instead of the normal grays and browns you'd see on buisness attire in NYC, and many of them wore pale one-colored hats you'd usually only ever see in an anime.

You noticed what appeared to be something like a hot dog stand, and your mouth instantly watered. You were starving for something that wasn't fruit, something that could give you some sort of protein.

A sign read; "$5 a blip morp", and you instantly took off your backpack and dug through to find some cash.

"Porter!" You held out $20 at Porter, showing him the holy bill, "Let's go get some food!"

He smiled, his eyes brightening, and took out his wallet, counting his own cash, "How much do you have total?"

You counted the bills, "$400, luckily I got paid the night before we got into the Worlds."

"I've got $300, so we've got $700." Porter concluded, "If we get a cheap hotel and some of those $5 hot-dog thingys, we can probably last quite a few days here."

"Alright, then let's GO! I'm STARVING!" You grabbed Porter's hand and guided him through the crowd, making a bee line to the stand you had your eye on since you got here.

"Two of uh.... those hot dog things... please!" Porter smiled at an old, blue-ish man, handing him $10.

The old man nodded, and gave both of you your food with a shakey hand, "Have a nice evening, lovebirds."

You blinked, Love birds? What was he talking about?

Then your realized you were still holding Porter's hand, face becoming a deep red, and quickly let go, "Ah! Sorry Porter!"

"Don't be sorry, we should stick together," Porter grabbed your hand again, oddly making your heart skip a beat, "We can't risk losing eachother in this crowd."

This time, Porter was the one to lead as you both weaved through the crowd, keeping sharp eyes out for any signs of a cheap hotel.

You guys finally found a rather sketchy, and dumpy, hotel; but it was a sign of low pricing!

You both walked in to see a grouchy-looking man sitting at the front desk, "Can I help you?"

"Yes sir, how much are your double bed rooms?" You asked.

"$100." The man said shortly.

You almost choked at hearing the price, $100 in this run-down hotel?!

"Do you have anything cheaper?" Porter asked, leaning on the desk.

"The cheapest is $35, single bed, very small room." The man looked impatient, "Do you want it or not?"

"We'll take it..." You sighed, handing the man his money before getting a key forcefully put into your hand.

The man didn't say another word as you and Porter left to you room.

...

The room was extremely small, nothing but a bed, and a door to the bathroom. There was not much space to move, even the bed was extremely tiny. You found yourself falling onto the bed as soon as you opened the door, the doors width the only space between the bed and you.

"Wow. What a lovely room." Porter mused sarcastically.

"What are we going to do about sleeping arrangements?" You frowned, dropping your bag in the corner next to the door.

"I can sleep on the floor." He shrugged.

"Well....there really isn't a floor unless you want to sleep in the bathroom."

"Guess we'll have to share." Porter plopped into the bed, popping off his shoes and burying himself into the covers.

You hesitated, before peeling off the covers to get in, and turning your back towards Porter, riggid as a board.

When he turned off the light, you felt like you couldn't move. You've never been in bed with a man before, and you oddly felt blush creep up your face.

You felt Porter shift to face you, "Hey (Y/N)?"

You flinched, his voice cutting through the thick air of your embarrassment.

"Woah, (Y/N), you okay?" Porter felt your flinch through the bed's mattress.

You got the courage to turn around, and cleared your throat, "Uh, sorry, yea. You just... surprised me."

Porter nodded in the dark before he spoke, "I just wanted to say... I'm sorry that I got you into this mess."

"Why would you say that?" You frowned, "It's not your fault!"

"I don't know..." He sighed, "Maybe it was a bad idea uncovering the Worlds to begin with."

"Porter, I do not blame you at all, don't beat yourself up about it." You said, "Curiosity killed the cat, it's my own fault I got too close and fell in."

Porter rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling, "I just hope we'll be able to get out of here somehow."

"Me too," You smiled, "But for now, we can discover and adventure through it. So far, it's a beautiful place, prettier than Earth."

"Agreed," Porter chuckled, "It truly is."

You gave out a yawn, closing your eyes to welcome the sweet release of sleep surround you, "G'night Porter .."

Porter repeated your yawn, "G'night, (Y/N). Sleep well."
