Chapter Nine--
I ran back towards the school slowing as I entered my English class.
"You're late Aribella," my English teacher said, "What is the reasoning behind it?"
The whole class stared at me until Madison snickered.
"She was with a boy."
"Aribella!" My teacher gasped.
Ms. Baxter was over the top conservative which was why her class room was divided in half; boys on the right and girls on the left.
Ms. Baxter believed that girls should be married off as a family decision and that girls should be seen and not heard when around boys.
Also, she was very strict about students and their public displays of affection around school.
"I was pushed down by another student and Caden was helping me up miss." I whispered sensing all eyes can on me.
I glanced up and my eyes landed on Caden standing in the doorway. I didn't know he had this class.
"I was simply being a gentlemen miss..." Caden interrupted.
"Alright take a seat both of you."
Caden gave me a soft smile as he took his seat and Ms. Baxter continued her lesson.
