In the year 2020, Earth has been invaded by extra dimensional aliens known as the Monarchs whose soul purpose is to eliminate the entire human race and destroy Earth as we know it. The government along with a group of scientists developed a special genetic device known as the Pegasus which when used I lets the user manifest superhuman fighting skills and weapons. The Pegasus was implanted on young males volunteers that were soon called the Guardians. The military trained the Guardians and after several discoveries, Scientists found out that Guardians can bond with young females called the Oracles who use special techniques to help their Guardians and themselves in any given situation. The bond between a Guardian and an Oracle is called a Spirit Bond that helps them connect with each other telepathically in and out of combat. As the war against the Monarchs continue, the government created an academy to where all Guardians and Oracles will learn and enhance their skills. Together the Guardian and Oracles stand together to defend Earth and help fend off the Monarchs, together they are called the Lightsworns.
