Appreciative Explanation
1. According to a saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, there were about 124,000 Prophets, peace be upon them, sent to various nations and tribes throughout history, the last and the final Prophet being Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Only 25 of these Prophets have been mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, and they have been listed above in reverse chronological order as is the tradition.
2. The Holy Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him, is also mentioned in the Holy Qur'an by many attributive names as given in Asma' un Nabi, Sallallahu 'alayhi wa Sallam .
