Hazel

My first classes went by pretty quickly. Every single class I had was shared with Harry. Pretty coincidental, huh? There was something about him that captured my attention though. Something that,

"Psst. Hazeeel? Haaaaazeeeeeel?"

His voice broke my train of thought.

Damn. His voice is pretty sexy. Wait. Stop thinking like that Hazel. You know better.

"Um. Yes?"

"You wanna hang out at lunch time?Y'know get to know each other. That type of stuff."

"Sure."

The school bell rang and it was finally lunch time. I had been waiting for this. I had this feeling in my stomach. You know, like the ones were you feel like its mutual love or something like that.

I walked over to the cafeteria. It was pretty big and there were tons of highschoolers. They were all in their little groups and cliques. I locked eyes with those green eyes. My heart melted inside of me. Pretty cliche, huh? It's like one of those movies were theres a new girl at school and she falls in love with that really handsome and popular guy. It's love at first sight. They both love each other and thats the end. But my story is different. This guy doesn't love me. He loves someone else.

Harry waves his hand and captures my attention. As I walk over to him, I see a girl. She has deep blue eyes that felt like they were piercing right through me. Her dirty blonde hair fell in perfect curls around her shoulders. She has perfectly tanned skin which complemented her outfit. I was jealous. Really really jealous.

"Hey Harry." I said awkwardly.

"Hey Haz! Oh. Is it ok if I call you that?" He smiled a great big smile which made my knees tremble.

"Ah. Yeah. So. Who's she?"

"This is Courtney, my girlfriend. Courtney this is Hazel. Hazel, Courtney."

My heart sank when I heard the word 'girlfriend.'

See! I told you Hazel! It was pointless. He's already devoted to someone. Just forget it.

"Oh. Um Hi." I held out my hand and she shook it.

"Hey. It's really nice to meet you." Her voice sounded perfect too. He would never like someone like me.

"Uh. I'm gonna go sit with my friends over there, Harry. I'll see you 'round."

I walked away awkwardly and my heart felt horrible. It felt like it was being stabbed a billion times. I didn't want to bother their time together.

Harry

I watched Hazel walk away. She looked pained almost. I couldn't stop thinking about her.

"Harry? Harrryyyy?" Courtney's voice rang through my head. Her voice caused me to snap out of my thoughts.

"Uh. Yeah. Sorry babe. What were you saying?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to Chad's party tonight?"

"Sure. Whatever you want babe."

I went back to eating my lunch. Thankfully lunch ended and my eyes scanned the room for Hazel. I found her talking to one of her friends.

"Babe! Is there something wrong? You keep looking at the direction that girl Hazel went." She stared at me with a confused look. I didn't want to hurt her or cheat on her.

"Yeah. Fine baby. Fine. Don't worry about it." I gave Court a quick peck on the lips. We said our goodbyes as we headed to our classes.
