Oh god. This was all a dream. It wasn't real at all. This couldn't be happening. No. No. I shakily reached out my hand to her as she was being carried up onto the ambulance.

"Any family members? Friends?"

"Over here! I'm her boyfriend!" I reluctantly called out.

"Please ride with us on the way to the hospital. Quickly. She's lost a lot of blood and barely breathing."

I slowly clambered onto the back of the van, watching as my true love was lost helplessly in her sleep. I was terrified. Terrified I wouldn't see her smiling face. Terrified I wouldn't be able to share me true feelings to her. Terrified I wouldn't be given a second chance to redeem myself of such half assed actions. I was very terrified of losing her the most.

The ride to the hospital was fast and short. They hurriedly brought Hazel to the ER where they began the tedious and long operations.

I sat on the waiting benches and tried not to think of the worst case scenarios. My mind still couldn't wrap around the thought that Hazel had gotten into an accident. I didn't want to believe it.

Seconds turned into minutes which turned into hours before a doctor finally came out of the ER.

"Hi. You must be Harry, her... boyfriend?"

"Uh yeah. How is she?"

"Thankfully only four broken ribs, she fractured her right leg and left arm, and she will have bruising and cuts all around her body. She's lucky it wasn't too bad of a hit. You're also very lucky to have found her before she lost all her blood. But she is in a coma. We still don't know how long."

My breathing hitched in my throat and I almost forgot to breathe.

"Can I see her?"

"Not at the moment. Only family members are allowed for now. I'm sorry son, but just pray for her to wake up."

He gave me a pitied smile and patted my back. He walked away as I slumped back into my chair and my breathing became steady again.

At least she was alive. She isn't dead. She'll wake up. I know she will.
