"Prepare, prepare the iron helm of war...

Prepare your hearts for Death's cold hand...

Prepare your souls for flight, your bodies for the earth..."

800 years ago in the Owari No Seraph universe

"Clang!" two swords met their eyes. The whole area was emerged in combat, the smell of blood was everywhere.

"Damn! I can't believe it, how did those men manage to come this far!" Dalia Schermer shouted in anger. She was told by the general that the troops were ready for combat in the front line of Talasias, a city which was two days apart from Garia. "I don't understand either Dalius." Another strong noise, caused by different steels meeting, was heard again. Crowley held his sword high, blocking the enemies attack. "Were there any news from Talasias? I haven't had heard from the command who was supposed to make sure that the enemy wouldn't be able to reach here..."

Dalius. This was the name Dalia chose for herself the day she decided to join the force, hiding her womanhood, disguising as a young man. Schermer was a person of pride and strenght, she was deeply devoted to freedom and will which made her change the road of her life. Dalia cut her hair short, gained much as muscle power as possible and learned swordmanship from her uncle who decayed two years ago. He was her only family, raising her up to see the world with wise eyes, being more than just a 'woman'.

"Argh! Stay afar scum!" She screamed stressed. Swinging the sword fast and strong. Most of her comarades have been lost already but there was no time for griefing for current family. They had to find a way, or the power, to lead the enemy out of this place if not their pride... might loose to violence. Schermer beheaded another man and looked to her right, quickly, to have a glimpse on Crowley Eusford. He was fighting calmly yet his grip was tight. 'I wonder if he is sorrowing already..' Dalia thought. She knew very well how attached Crowley was to his comerades and how much he respected them. "DALIUS DON'T DREAM!" A mans voice from afar took her attention. As soon as she looked from Eusford she saw a huge mustached man ready to attack her... with his hands? 'What is this exotic man planning?' She asked herself wondering, how stupid a warrior can be to go onto the battlefield without any weapon. "UOOOHHG!!" The male groaned and swung his right hand fast but heavy into the womans face. 'A SLAPPER!' Schermer realized holding her sword up, but she figured it was no use against those huge arms and hands of her enemy. The Slappers were generally huge men who trained their power by hitting marble with their bare hands on a daily basis. If you are very unlucky on the battlefield you would come across one of these barbarians, since it was confirmed that a Slapper could break your skull and kill you immidiately with just one hit. Your sword wont be much of a help either in such a situation because the arms of these men were far stonger than any steel on this earth. "YOU DAMNED IDIOT!" Shouted Crowley while running towards the mustached man, swinging his blade, furiously, preparing it for a deadly hit.

Crowley and Dalia shared a secret. One day, it was out of pure luck, Eusford had set a step into the tent where Schermer was preparing for the night. Even if she succeded in hiding her true identity, reality was always around her, a body was still a body as it was made. At that night he had found out that Dalius was a beautiful woman with a strong heart. Schermer thought that Crowley would neglect her and spread the truth in the force, even causing her to die because she knew very well that it was a tabu for a female to act like a man and that these who overlooked this rule would be sentenced to death, declared as a demon. "Well 'Dalius'." Crowley said quietly, smirking while directing his eyes somewhere else, "I respected you already but, I think I do so even more." His left hand scratched the top of his head, "But I wont garantuee that I wont tell anyone, unless you reveal your true name to me..."

"DALIA!" Eusford ran as fast as possible it was for a man and sting his sword harshly into the barbarian's huge backbone. Schermer also took the chance and kicked the man from the front causing him to fall on his fresh wound. "Crowley behind you!" She said, cutting the, on the ground lying, barbarian's head rapidly. More metal noises were heard until the enemy was succesfully beaten until sunset.

Garia was saved and over thousands of warriors had given their life to protect the will of the king and the pope. "I wonder what on earth happened in Talasias." said Dalia angrily to Crowley while they were sitting against a wall, watching the outcome of the war they had fought a few hours ago. "Me too to be honest, didn't the general say that over 10.000 men were placed there especially to make sure that the foreigners wont be able to get here?" Schermer nodded "Yes, I talked to him in person before he went off to Sahrin. He also added that it would be impossible for the attackers to reach here since he let those new catapults being build at the frontiers of Talasias... godammit."

This night was a fateful night. Dailia and Crowley weren't aware nor the others had a clue that the so called general had sold his force off to a dangerous vampire lord named Ferid Barthory in order to become immortal "Well Sir Barthory here are several maps showing the locations of the several forces." The man of course had no idea that Ferid had no intention of fullfilling his promise by turning the leader of an enormous human army into a vampire. His plan was to slice through every single soldier to have a little fun, maybe he would also turn some useful men into his kind but... maybe. "Thank you very much Lord Marksis. I appreciate all the efforts you have put into this, so let's not let you wait any further shall we?" The general was about to smirk and answer but the vampire standing behind him understood the order Ferid was giving and stabbed the general from behind with his hand. The leader looked confused and also suprised, he opened his mouth to say something but death had no time to spare. "What a naughty man you are Lord Marksis, betraying your men like this..." laughter was echoing in the darkness, the moon was shining bright and the blood was smelling,
