Act 10; Unwanted/wanted Meetings

After so long an absence

At last we meet again:

Does the meeting give us pleasure,

Or does it give us pain?

(...)

And at last we hardly distinguish

Between the ghosts and the guests;

And a mist and shadow of sadness

Steals over our merriest jests

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"Offf, Berker Kardeş, I have this bad feeling about all of this!" Valiyev sighed when both of the big Turks lingered around the old village. It felt as if the surroundings were set on fire to burn, to burn down all of life for God to find a way to show his anger. "About what exactly Vidadi Kardeş?" the other asked him, stopping on the spot. He put one arm behind his back and the other hand under his chin. "About the whole thing of Crowley and my sister Dalia." The old vampire murmured in response. He was feeling confident in leaving the Knight on her own with the children back in Japan, but he was not very fond of the idea of Eusford anxiously looking for her- "If he even knows how to feel that way, arrogant Crusader..." Berker Bey turned chuckling to Valiyev, "Is that what you think of him?" he asked curiously. Valiyev couldn't tell from the beginning that Berker Bey was not really as attached to the force as he showed himself to be, especially his guess with Crowley Eusford being all in for Ferid and the other Nobles was not of truth. When he met Crowley to speak of his own experiences and how he was turned during war gave Vidadi the chance to see through some flashes of the other Knights past memories. He saw Dalia yielding a sword with Eusford together and he very well felt that warm feeling that was about the other man when he remembered the blonde hair of that graceful woman warrior.

As much as he understood from the situation about the other vampires, everyone with enough piece of mind was attached to memories and events that tied them to one another. Berker was loyal to Crowley because he was the first person to speak to when he was to find out about the underground societies. Crowley seemed to be rather enduring of Ferid because he was tied to his own personal turning and loss of his... soul mate. "I cannot understand, nor do I believe it." The old Turk said when he sat down on the ground, crossing his legs in thought, "That we are still capable of finding a soul mate, of having one... is just absurd. We barely hold onto our emotions and human traits, which is entirely decided on by our environment." Berker Bey just nodded silently in agreement. The other Turk wasn't too sure of the situation either, honestly. "Maybe they are destined to be, because they share important memories with each other?" he suggested. The wind was howling through the empty village, any normal human being would gag because of the stench it carried.

Valiyev sighed; at a part through their journey with Berker, they started to share more information with one another. At some point eventually, Vida got tired of all the secrets lying heavy in the air so he went on a rant and shared his past with Berker Bey. With that, the other man started to feel fond of the crazy man and shared his piece about life as well. After a while of talking, killing monsters and supporting some blood-farms, the word of Dalia Schermer and her possible emotional connection with Eusford fell between them. "So you weren't alone in that village in Japan, you say?" Berker asked him with a surprised expression. Valiyev only nodded and added, "She is crazier than me and to be honest, I wasn't protecting her but you all by hiding her existence from you!" he laughed a loud laugh,  it echoed through  the woods they were walking in. "That must mean that she is rather strong and determined?"  The other Turk asked. Yes she was, Vida thought to himself, and she was gifted with the strength of the angels. "Well.." Berker started, also slowly seating himself on the ground, his legs crossed. "If she is the way you told me, then there is a lot of trouble waiting for those who committed this hideous sin which led us to this point, and you know what? I will be glad to be a witness of that type of war, a truly holy war it will be." Vidadi nodded and smiled, "It will be fun to see her again." he said in a cheery voice, "but I hope that Eusford wont break her will in some way."

"I AM NOT GOING TO LIVE AFTER YOUR WILL TRAITOR!" a loud and ear tearing scream was heard in the forest of our little village. Schermer was out of her mind. First of all, one of those nosy brat-vampires took the shape of her dearest and stole her damned memories for their own use, and second of all two busty women appeared in front of her and reminded the Knight that she was indeed not busty, at all. "You slowly start to make me sick to the bone, a witch trial would be more preferable to endure than your senseless fairytales 'Eusford'!" she gasped with all her strength. If Vida was just here, she said to herself, I could have pulled this one fight through and saved those stupid children from that stupider cave!  "No! Dalia you are just being very hard-headed, I hope you realize that! How can someone not change at all for more than 800 years?! Still the same as ever!" the man shouted towards her. He stopped trying to get closer to her, standing between the, busty-milk-vampire-slut-women, thought Schermer. "Oh my..." the blonde and tall one started to speak too, "Those thoughts of yours are not very Lady-like are they my dear?" The man turned to her and gave her a look meaning her to be silent, "That's none of your business Horn, shut up, will you?" he said angrily. The only person on this world to be still smiling while being hurtful could be only him, the knight thought, it is really time to think now, she decided. One wrong move could mean the fate for those children, even for herself. She studied the three vampires standing there, they were wearing different attire and they certainly did look different than those soldiers she met before. Those must be the ones employing the trees, Schermer told herself. They must be stronger than the others, and that means no good.

Crowley was lost in this mess. He could not understand why of all people, she would be treating him with anger in her heart. He knew that her head was hard as steel and that it was truly admirable work to make her change her mind, but this time she lost herself. She clearly doesn't want to believe it either that Eusford was still alive and biting, but he never imagined that her self-defense would hurt him this much. Still he would forgive her even if she would run her graceful sword through his very own heart any second now, "Dalia, please just give me some of your time. I will not harm you at all if you choose to listen to me." He didn't know what those words evoked in her, but it was anything than good to be sure. "You do not tell me what to do, I have been my own master for 822 years now and I will continue to be so until I die." Oh heavens, Crowley was out of it, she is crazy, she sold her brains to the witches. "Horn, Chess." the tall vampire commanded, "Does she have company?" he asked his servants. "Yes." Skuld answered, "there is a cave a few seconds far, it holds six children in it." Crowley nodded and watched every move his opposition made to stop him, "Get those children and kill them, they are clearly in the way, I don't even want them as livestock." They caused too much trouble for his dear beloved. Too much attention seeking those brats, I need them out of her head for her to listen to me. "You dare not touch those lads and gals!" the woman shouted back at his orders. "They are the last people I am indebted to! I owe it their ancestors!" she said, breathing heavily, "She needs blood." Chess pulled Crowley by his cape a little, "She is out of her energy, she wont stand that much any longer." Eusford nodded, he noticed her movements, still strong, getting a little slower. "Hear me out knight, we will support those children if you choose to go with us." He turned to Schermer, "How did you think you will find blood in all this mess to feed yourself? Your hunger will not be of great help for those children, I tell you. Be plausible and cooperate with us, you will experience more good than harm from all of this."

Shit of a bull- Dalia thought to herself, she was mad that he was speaking the truth, the longer she would try to protect the children the more dangerous she will become for them. She was already feeling the effects of her hunger for blood and if this would have continued further she may have slashed the children without even knowing it. Schermer stood still for a second and tried to collect her thoughts and regulate her breath, "What will you do to them, where will you take them?" she asked with a low voice. "Don't you care a little for yourself? You are in hunger and you are tired from combat." The man replied, and he was right if there was to be a fight with them, she would not be able to win it this time. "You tell me one last time stranger, that you are not playing with my soul." she gasped while she went down on one of her knees, "Tell me, is it really you?" this question of hers was enough to make Eusford move towards her. Up close to her face he looked into her sea blue eyes with golden shine in them, she could see into his feelings and his memories as if she was watching one of those quick black-white films, but in this particular one she could sense the love and the pain that was felt from the other person. It was him and Schermer did not know wether he came to save her or to cause her ruin.
