Recap:
"I said no! The rules were that if she lost, she would be exiled, not killed! I will not break the rules!"
"You just did."
I was the first officer ever to defy direct orders in the Rally Warriors soldiers history. So I did the one thing I knew to do.
I ran.
------------------------------------------
I watched those behind me, chasing me, ready to take me down. I smirked, lucky for me, I was always the fastest and won every challenge race. I ran down a hallway and through a door at the end of the hall. I held my breath as footsteps ran past the room. I took a breath and slowly examined the room, gasping at the sight before me.
The reeducation room. I thought it was a myth, we were always told about traitors that would go on a "special assignment", Never to return. I took in the whole sight in front of me, knives and other tools sprawled out across the table and blood stains across the floor. Chink! The clashing of chains came into sight as my eyes followed the sound.
"No!" I cried out as I saw the one person who meant the most to me, Derek, my older brother.
He looked up at me and his eyes lit up but then hardened a split second afterward.
"What are you doing here? How did you find me?"
I responded by simply looking at him. I thought he was dead. I quickly looked for a way to get him down. I grabbed the nearest bolt cutter and started cutting in an attempt to free Derek. He stared at me in awe as I finally freed him. He fell onto me and stared up at me in the way that I always stared at him.
-"Again!" shouted my brother as he threw me a sparing stick.
I looked up at him and got in ready position as he called start. I was hit in the side and I swung the stick into his face but not before he cracked the stick on the back of my knees.
"Owww!!!!" I collapsed in pain.
Derek threw down the stick and ran to me giving me a hug and a kiss.
"I'm so sorry! It'll be all right!! I love you lil' sis!"
"I want to be just as strong as to you one day!" I smiled
"One day," he replied.-
He stood up with my help and we began walking. Towards the door when we heard footsteps walking down the corridor. I put my brother down and hid behind me the door, waiting for a fight.
"Kay? Kay, are you in here?" I peeked through the darkness to see the silhouette of Nala.
"Nala!" I walked over to her and hugged her until I felt a pinch on my hand probably from a bug.
"Hurry! Grab Derek!"
As I turned to where my brother was sitting, only to discover that he was gone.
Crack! I turned, only to be knocked to the ground with a stabbing pain going through my abdomen and blood consuming me. All I could do was lay there and allow the darkness to take me.
