Recap:

I sobbed silently into his shirt as he took his last breath. I ran my fingers through his hair and kissed his forehead, then I got up and ran. All the way to the heavily guarded wall in which all the guns were pointed at their target.

Me.

------------------------------------------

I looked up in shock as shots rang out, my eyesight still clouded by fresh tears. I swiftly took cover behind a wall and caught my breath.

I can't believe he's gone. My only brother.

Gone.

I took a deep breath. I couldn't hyperventilate, not here, not now. Think, Kayla. Think!

The scouts! I took off towards the garage where my escape awaited. I ran down the hallway, into the garage, ducking away from the soldiers and gunfire. As one soldier passed by one-after-another I stuck my foot out to trip them. As they fell, I elbowed them in the face, then spun around and kicked him in the solar plexus, following which, I gave a swift knee to the groin. He fell to the ground in pain as I grabbed his gun.

I busted through the door and faced the unsuspecting looks of my fellow comrades, or former comrades.

"Kayla? What are you doing here? Your supposed to be dead!"

"Get her!!"

I grabbed the crowbar and swung it as the girl advanced at me. She went down with a hard, bang I ran towards the cycle and once on, I gunned it. I sped through the garage and through the door as gunshots tailed me. As I sped through the forest, I heard the roar of motors as my comrades advanced toward me. Come and get me boys!

"Kayla! You will never leave us! We OWN you!!" shouted a superior soldier's he flew past me in an effort to cut me off.

I quickly took a sharp turn when I hit a room which sent me flying into a tree and into the overgrown weeds on the forest floor.

Pain shot through me like a knife. My vision became spotty and I started going in and out of consciousness.

"Got her! Ky! We got her!!"

Rally soldier's gathered around me, making me feel boxed in. No! This can't happen, I can't die like this!

Crack! Bang! Boom! Bang! Bang! Crack!

BOOM!!!

Complete chaos stirred around me as I blacked out for the second time today.

Great...

---5 days later---

Unknown POV

"What do you want me to do? Shoot her?!!"

"She's a Rally! Obviously sent to kill us!"

I scoffed. Brayan can be such an idiot!

"Yes, because her whole squad would kill her so she could kill us. That makes so much sense. Brayan have you ever thought that maybe she could help us? Maybe a little?" stupid!

"Yeah, right! You are so foolish to believe that! Move right now!! Let me gut her! Make her FEEL pain!!"

Fury burned through me like a wildfire. How dare he!!

"NO! I WILL NOT MOVE AND YOU WILL LEAVE THIS TENT NOW OR SO HELP ME, I WILL BEAT YOU INTO THE HOLE JUST OUTSIDE OF CAMP.. DO WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER?!!"

"Fine, whatever... Just remember I told you so!"

"Just get out!!"

I walked to the young girl and stroked her silky brown hair. I'm glad I made the call to attack or this girl wouldn't be here.

"Derek?"

I quickly looked down to see the girl looking up at me with beautiful green eyes.

"Where is he? Derek. Where is he?" she demanded in a weak voice.

"Derek?" There's no way she knows him! Right?.. I mean, there can't be can there?

"Well?"

"Derek left 3 months ago... He never came back. We tried to stop him, but he said he needed to rescue his sister because she was the one person in Rally Warriors that he would not give up on. He said she meant the whole world to him... I wish I-"

The soft sound of sobbing began as those light green eyes were now clouded with fresh tears. I knelt down beside her and engulfed her in a hug. At first she struggled against my grip before ultimately giving into the hug as she continued her soft sobbing in my shoulder.

"How do you know him?" I asked when she was calm enough to think.

She smiled half-heartedly and replied, "He's my brother. And- I- I-"

Holy Crap on a cracker! Her brother!? Figures why she's so beautiful!

"It's okay... You can tell me, I'm a friend."

She blew out a big breath and continued, "When he tried to help me escape, he got captured and was tortured, then was murdered! I told him I wouldn't leave him, but I did!" The girl began crying even more so than before.

"You left because he told you to. He would've been happy you got out alive, and thanks to me, NOT in their custody."

Heaven forbid! They'd kill the poor thing.

"I don't need your pity!!!" she spit venomously. "I can take care of myself!!"

I have no doubt!! She was Derek's sister... She has to be a fighter somewhere within herself.

"Uh, Sorry! I'm Elisa by the way."

She eyed me and her new surroundings wearily.

"Kayla. Um... Where aware we exactly?"she asked with a questioning glance.

"How about some breakfast, you've been out for 5 days... You must be starving! I'll be right back." I attained a devious smile as I turned back around to face her.

"Oh, and hun, Welcome to The Wilds!"
