Nicholas's POV"Chloe, Chloe come here" I screamed as loudly as I could. This was all my fault, I shouldn't have let her go alone towards that area. I walked towards the scene as I watched Chloe running around madly away from the one thing she hates in this life.
CLOWNS
Chloe has always hated clowns, she'd rather drown herself than stay close to one. She hated clowns with so much passion that i became worried for her well being, looks like it hasn't changed.
"Chloe" I ran towards her and grabbed her, she was shaking frantically in my arms. I looked closely at the clown who clearly enjoyed scaring the life out of her. I watched as he got closer and closer to her with a huge grin plastered on his face, when he got as close enough as I wanted him, I moved Chloe slightly and swung my fist at his face giving him a very strong blow on his painted face. I saw a light purple colour appear instantly, that's definitely going to leave a mark.
"Piss off you moron!!!" I screamed loudly as he ran away screaming like a coward. I looked at Chloe, she was shaking, she clearly still felt scared.
"Hey, its okay the moron's gone"
"R...r...really?"
"Yeah, let's go calm you down a bit, come on"
I took her towards one place I knew she loved so much which is, the selection of stuffed toys. As we got closer, she perked up as soon as she realized where we were headed to. I held her as closed I could. I knew she neither going to let go of my waist due to that horrible experience. That's the thing about Chloe, once she sees a clown and freaks out, it takes a while before she calms down and her remedy is to cling onto anyone close to her. Maybe bringing clowns close to her isn't a bad idea after all.
"So tell me, which one do you want huh?"
"Um...I...I want the big lion"
"Lion? Why?"I was puzzled at her reply, most girls would want the big teddy bear.
"It'll protect me from bad things"
"Bad things like clowns?"
"Please don't call that thing, I hate it so much"
"Alright but you have to choose something else, I don't want you to have the lion" she looked so confused.
"Why?"
"Because even though it'll protect you, it'll just as much as eat you up alive, besides I'm here for you"
"Why nick, I hardly know you"
"Why do you keep saying that?"
"I don't know, maybe because its the truth" I looked at her carefully to know if she was really telling the truth and surprisingly she was.
What happened?, something must have happened for her to forget about me.
"We'll talk about this later, now, choose something else"
"I...."
"Not the lion"
"I wasn't going to choose that, I want the puppy, its cute"
"Alright, I must get that for you"
"Oh really, you do realize you have to get most of the targets to win that"
"Don't doubt me sweetheart"
I took the rings, the key was to make sure each of them landed in the cups, which was just open enough for the rings to enter them, or maybe more than enough. I paid the man and took the rings, as I was about to throw it, a couple came by to watch but then the girl screamed that she wanted the puppy.
What!
Her boyfriend bought the rings but I wasn't about to let him win. The competition started as Chloe kept on screaming and encouraging me. I threw each of the rings smoothly making sure that I missed no targets but as I was about to throw the last one, I felt a soft hand caress my arms which made me loose all manner of focus so I missed the last one.
"Oh, you missed it"
"It was your fault!"
"My fault?, what did I do?"
"You distracted me when you touched me!"
"Oh, I'm sorry"
Her face turned bright pink. I loved it when she blushed. It was the other man's turn to throw it, he kept on getting every throw which was annoying until he decided to throw two rings at a time, that's when everything went down. I won the puppy and he got an ear full of spit from his screaming girlfriend.
I watched as Chloe grabbed the stuffed puppy from the socially sick man who looked like he hated his job.
"Thanks nick"
I just smiled softly at her. We tried out everything in the fair until we were about to leave, school had closed so there was no point in going back. I dropped her off at her house. We were seated silently in the car when she broke the silence.
"Why didn't you ask me?"
"It just wasn't the right time to do so. Do you want me to ask you?"
"Maybe"
"Alright, what happened to you today"
She hesitated a little, I could tell she was contemplating whether to tell me or not.
"I don't know, in fact I don't understand. I had a nightmare"
"What was it about?"
"It wasn't that clear, I couldn't see anything that was happening, it was like I couldn't breathe"
"Did you have the same nightmare in school?"
"No, that was different"
"How, what happened?"
"Um...mm...I...I think I need to leave my mum's calling me"
She didn't want to tell me, apparently she didn't trust me enough to do so.
"Wait, Chloe you know you can come to me whenever you're ready to talk right?"
"Yeah bye"
I watched as she left carefully and cautiously, something really happened and I'm going to find out what exactly did.

Chloe's POV
It just felt so right being with nick but then I couldn't tell him, my mind wasn't stable and I needed someone to talk to, probably my doctor. I need to find out what happened and the freakish person sending those freaky messages. I felt so scared, I felt like I had experienced this before, no something has to be done and I need to do it quick before I loose my mind.
