"Get back here!!"
"No, let me go, leave me alone please"
I kept on running away from the monster. I couldn't let him get to me, no he would rip me to shreds, no, no someone help, please save me, save me.
"I'll get you"
"No no leave me alone, please".
"Chloe Chloe Chloe"
"Chloe dear please wake up, please"
"No let me go"
"Darling wake up"
I jumped up feeling frightened, that was just a dream. I was so scared. I looked at mum who looked back at me with fright.
"Mum?"
"Chloe, Chloe my dear come here" she hugged me so passionately. I couldn't contain the tears any longer as they poured out from my cheeks. It was a terrible dream, so terrible that it felt so real.
"Mum, what's wrong with me?"
"Honey, calm down okay, please calm down, you'll be fine, it was just a dream"
"B...b...but m...m...mum, it felt so r..r...real"
"Sweetie calm down, I'll stay with you if you want me to"
"Okay, please stay, please mum"
Mum stayed with me but I found it really difficult to go back to sleep mostly because I didn't want to because I didn't want to see that again.
* * * * *
My whole body felt so hot and kind of sticky as I opened my eyes. I was alone in bed, mum must have left to prepare breakfast. I got out of bed quickly refusing to think about last night's event. After showering and preparing for school, I ran downstairs as I heard noises.
What was happening?
As I got closer to the living room, I found my mum talking with her boyfriend. I was about to go to the kitchen when I heard my name being called by a deep voice.
"Chloe?"
"Mr Conel, um hi?"
"Oh no no, you can call me David"
"Um fine?"
"Can I talk to you?"
I looked at mum in confusion, she just nodded in agreement.
"Okay"
"Let's go to the kitchen, we can talk while you have breakfast"
"Sure"
We walked towards the kitchen then I took out the pancakes and French toast with orange juice mum made for me.
"What do you want to talk about" I said with a mouth full of pancake.
"Chloe I know you don't feel comfortable with me here and I'm sorry about that but the thing is, I really love your mum and it'll make me really happy if you accept me"
It took me by surprise when he said that. Partial surprise.
"Um, I don't know what to say"
"I just need your acceptance Chloe and I don't want you to feel awkward around me, is that okay?"
I stood up immediately with shaky legs as I knocked over the glass of water pouring it in front of him and unto his trousers.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that"
He plastered a grin on his face as he said
"Is that your way if saying no?"
"What?, no of course not, I truly didn't mean to do that. Please forgive me"
