Ross’s POV
Dylan said, "Renee and I have a surprise for you." Dylan leaned back on his stool, revealing me. Sky looked surprised. The first thing to come out of my mouth was, "But, you died." She spun around and ran out the door. I ran after her and I ran as fast as I could. I was angry. We ran to the park, then through a big grassy field, next a construction site, and through another field, until we ended up in an orchid.
Skylar's POV
I ran as fast as I could but he managed to keep up. I ran into an orchid, maybe I could lose him by hiding in the trees. He was close behind; I threw myself against a tree and tucked in close to it. He yelled out, "Sky!" He was close; a tear fell from my eye, so I covered my mouth to keep quiet. He was crying, I heard his voice crack as he yelled out, "Why? Why would you do this to us? To me?" I held my breath to restrain a whimper. He yelled, "I loved you, we all did, and you let us believe you died. I saw you die." I came out, I couldn't take it, this was breaking my heart. I said, "Well, I didn't." He slowly approached me, I said, "You got dragged into everything I did. All of you. I didn't want to see you get hurt anymore. Ross I left because I care about you." He said, "But you died. I know you did, I saw your heart beat flat line." I said, "Renee unhooked it from the back, so it looked like I died." He looked hurt, I knew he was, he said, "You tricked us, for a year." I said, "You were never supposed to find out." He said, "You lied, why you even came back?" I started crying again, "Ross, don't act like this, I'm the same exact person that I was before." He said, "No, you are not the same girl I knew. You are a liar, if you cared about me you wouldn't have faked your death. You wouldn't have kept something like that from me. And Renee? Your sister? You found her before you 'died' yet you didn't tell me? I can't go back to any of the places you used to work because I break down and cry. I can't visit my grandpa or else he will bring up you. The only reason I'm friends with Renee is because she reminded me of you, but in a good way. She didn't make me sad, she helped me move forwards with my life, but she doesn't even know that she's just a substitute for you. I feel awful about it, and you let me." He looked behind me, "oh my gosh." I turned around. Dylan and Renee were behind me. She didn't hear him but I knew she read his lips. Her voice was shaky, she said, "I've been a replacement this whole time? You were never actually my friend? You know what, use someone else to fix your problem with Cameron. He may have hurt me, but not like you just did." She ran off. Dylan ran after her. Ross said, "What did I just do? That wasn't even fully true. She replaced you, but she wasn't just a substitute. She was my friend." I said, "Don't you see, when I'm in your life, things only get worse." He looked so conflicted. He looked up at me, "But you, you were my best friend, and you're here." I said, "Ross I have no good reason to stay. Someone is after me and I won't get you involved." He walked up to me and put his hands on both sides of my head, "I'm here, with you, forever." And with that, he crashed his lips into mine. I heard Dylan's voice, "Guys, that's so messed up." We separated, Dylan said, "So you break Renee's heart, then go and take Sky's again? Dude." He started to walk away but Ross ran over to him and stopped him. Ross said, "Wait, where did she go?" Dylan said, "I ran after her, but I lost her, you really said some bad things." Ross said, "But it wasn't true, Renee was my friend. I was just having a moment." I said, "Ross, go. Fix things."
Ross's POV
I said, "Will I see you again?" She said, "I came back to get Renee, but she's going to take care of it tomorrow." I said, "Cameron's involved?" She said, "yeah, but we need to get him away from your sister." I said, "Look, Renee doesn't even have to get hurt, just come back with me and you can tell my family, they'll believe you." She said, "Ross I can't do that." I said, "Why not?" She said, "Because to your family, I'm dead, I don't exist anymore."
