Josh woke up slowly, rubbing his eyes a bit. At first he didn't know where he was, then he saw Tyler. He was still asleep, and he looked so precious. Josh felt like he needed to protect him. He would protect him, from any threat imaginable. They would be in it together.
Josh played with Tyler's hair gently, making sure not to move so much that he would wake Ty up.
Josh listened to the morning wind, gently blowing over each leaf of the old trees he knew had stood there long before him, each one hovering over them like a canopy, a shield.
The birds were singing songs through the humid air, and they were also protected by the trees, the same as Josh and Tyler. It was a reassuring sort of feel.
Josh looked down, admiring each small detail of Tyler's physique, until he saw that Ty's dark eyelashes fluttered open. He made a soft, yawning noise that just made Josh's heart flutter. He was so, entirely in love with him.
"Good morning Joshie.." he mumbled a bit, his voice was extremely gentle.
"Good morning, Beautiful. How did you sleep?" He ran a few fingers through his hair gently before kissing his forehead.
Josh noticed a deep blush spread across Tyler's cheeks before he nuzzled his head into Josh's chest, and closed his eyes with content. He looked happy, and that's all Josh wanted, for him to be happy. Nothing else mattered, not he himself, not his family, just Tyler, who had been there for him for so long, the first person to actually love him after all of the hate he used to receive.
"I slept great," he whispered gently, and moved up, leaning in and pressing his soft delicate lips to Josh's.
Josh melted into the kiss, and pulled him close, running his hand gently under Tyler's shirt. He couldn't help himself, Ty was just so beautiful, the most beautiful little flower petal. His flower petal.
Tyler moved away finally, after a kiss that seemed like it could last forever.
"Are you hungry, Petal?" Josh asked gently, looking into his eyes.
"Petal?" Ty tilted his head with confusion.
"My beautiful little flower petal," Josh explained.
Tyler giggled in response and hid his face before speaking.
"Why don't we go to the waterfall?" He asked shyly.
"I'd love that," Josh confirmed with a bright smile. He got up and held his hand out for Tyler, who took it happily, pulling his small body weight up.
Josh stepped across the blankets and onto the wooden door, still hand in hand with the love of his life.
They ran through the trees, the wind blowing in their faces, pushing tree branches away. At first they could only hear the water, pushing down into the lake as it fell. Then they could start to see green grass, covered in newly-grown flowers, the sun peaking through the trees, welcoming them to the meadow. It was a large field, with a waterfall coming from a large rock wall. The trees acted as the other walls. No one knew about this place yet, there were no signs naming it, and no one was ever there. No one really even went this deep into the forest, and of course if they did, it would be easy to find their shed, because of the path, but they were careful about this field, to make sure no one else found it. They ran to the water and sat down together. Tyler was cuddling close to him, and Josh had his arm wrapped around him. They both had their eyes closed, just listening to the the water, and breathing the fresh smell of air into their fragile lungs.
"I dare you to jump in the water," Tyler giggled and looked up to him.
"Sure! But only if you come with me," Josh smirked evilly in response.
"No way! Thats wayyyy too high up." he frowned a bit.
"Then I'm not going," Josh scoffed fakely.
"Fine! I'll go, Tyler finally complied, and got up, pulling Josh with him.
They ran up to the rock wall, and started walking up the side that was formed like some sort of stairway.
Once they made it up, Josh took Tyler's hand, because he was shaking.
"Do you trust me?" Josh looked at him, concern clearly spread across his face.
"I trust you." Tyler took a deep breath and squeezed his hand.
"When I say 'three', we'll jump, okay?" Josh said gently.
"Alright."
"One.. Two.. three!"
Josh smiled and jumped off of the wall, aiming for the water. He kept Tyler's hand held tight, to make sure he was safe.
Gravity was pulling them down to the water, the air going up pushing against their skin, all the way down until they finally hit the water, and Josh swam back up along with Tyler.
They were both laughing and splashing around.
"C'mon, it's cold," Tyler giggled, and took Josh's hand, pulling him over to the edge. They both ended up taking off their clothes, except for their boxers, since the water in the fabric along with wind would make them colder.
They held onto each other for warmth until sundown.
