Sans x Insomniac Reader

You couldn't sleep. This was normal, but at the same time, it felt foreign. You decided to take a walk, maybe clear your mind, or at least get you tired. You put on your f/c hoodie, black ripped jeans, boots, and grabbed your phone. You pulled your hood over your h/c hair and headed out into the streets. It was only 3 in the morning so people were still asleep, that's what you thought. There was a figure near by, you not knowing that they were there,then, you got a text. It was from Sans.

'Hey.' He texted.
'Hey, what's up? Normally you're asleep by now.'
'I need to tell you something.'
Sans was a monster you met during one of your walks, he cracked some jokes, talked a bit, then he gave you his number. It was nice to have a new friend. You guys talked a lot and hung out often.
'Yeah, what is it?'
   Read: 3:04 am
'Sans?'
Read: 3:10 am
"Hey."
You nearly jumped so high, you could've hit the lamp post above you.
"Goddammit Sans, you scared me."
"Oh, sorry bout that."
"It's whatever. So, what did you want to tell me?"
"Go to sleep, please, it's not healthy to be up this late. Let alone walking around."
"Sans, it's ok, thats why I take naps during the day." I gave him a small smile.
"Heh, fine. I'll walk with you though."
"Oh, alright." Your cheeks felt a little warm and you knew you were blushig when he said he wanted to walk with you.

Tbh, over the past year that you have been hanging with him, you've been growing more and more attracked to the punny skeleton. Yet, you couldn't tell him. It would break your whole exsictence if he found out and rejected you.

You and Sans finished the walk and ended back at your house. "Thanks Sans, for walking with me."
"No problem kiddo. See ya later?"
"Yeah, see ya."
I opened my door and looked above the stove for the time, 4:37 am.
"Heh, not as late as normal, but it'll do." You thought to yourself. Maybe you could get some sleep.

*the next morning*

'Hey y/n, meet me at the park after lunch, ok?'
'Sure Sans, you ok?'
'Yeah just, don't be late.'
'Alright.'
You put on some decent clothing and after lunch, you walked to the park. You felt a little uncomfortable while walking there because you were being looked at by others. The sun didn't help much either.

Finally, you reached a tree in the park and saw Sans on a bench waiting for you. He looked up and saw you waving him over.
"Hey y/n, what's up?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing. Why'd you want to meet me here?"
"Well, it's just that.." Sweat dripped from his skull and he rubbed the back of it.
"I wated to give you this." He handed you a small box with a f/c ribbon wrapped around it.
"Don't open it unless you feel ueasy or unable to sleep, ok?"
"Yeah, thanks Sans." You smiled at him and blue blush dusted his cheeks while he smiled back.
"Anyways, I better get back home, I need some sleep."
"I'll walk you."

You guys walked in silence while you tried to figure out what was in the box. You reahed your house and asked Sans if he wanted to join your nap session, but he refused saying that he needed to check on Papyrus anyways. You nodded and headed in, placing the box on the coffee table and flopping onto the couch, drifting to sleep.

*time skeep*

You woke in a breathless state. You turned to see the box still on the table and it was already 7 pm. "*sigh* I guess I can see what's in it." You sat up and grabbed the box. You carefully undid the ribbon and opened the box.

There was a note. It read:

'I don't have any planned skeleton puns at the moment so throw me a bone. Ahem, y/n, i want to tell you that you are the most beautiful girl I've met and is the best at everything. I've had a crush on you for a while now and just couldn't bear rejection face to face. If you don't feel the same, you can throw all of this away, but, if you do, please put the ribbon in your hair so that way next time I see you, I'll know what you feel. Please don't hate me for this.

You were blushing so red, tomatos would be jealous. You got up, put the ribbon in your hair, and waited til dark.

You were walking your normal route, when you got to the lamp post, you were greeted by the familar, punny skeleton. He seemed joyful.

"So, it's true"
"What do you mean?"
"Oh I just heard some rumors that you liked a certain someone." Sarcasm within your tone.
"Oh nooo, whatever shall I do??" Sarcasm also noticable in his tone.
You both stood quiet for a second then both burst into laughter.

"I never thought you'd like me back." His cheeks were dusted with a light blue.
"I never thought you liked me that way." You blushed a light red and looked away.
"Heh"
"What?"
"Oh nothing."
Sans tilted your head back towards him and leaned in, closing the distance between you two. You tensed at first then relaxed into it.

Sans broke away and genuinly smiled at you, making you blush an even more red.
"You're cute when you blush."
"S-shut up."
