<Estelle's pov>

Shit.

I had dropped my tray.

This was Great way to start my first morning.

Well, at least I didn't have to worry about not having friends.

That's why I transferred here anyway, my childhood best friend went here, I got myself transferred into the majority of his classes.

*Flashback* <still Estelle's pov>

I sat on my front porch with a stick in my hands, drawing in the dirt.

I twiddled with my hair, not having anything to do.

Because I was seven, and had no siblings, I was absolutely bored on this hot summer day in Georgia.

A small boy, and his mother gripping the back of his shirt came into my view as they walked up the street.

He looked reluctant to be there.

They walked straight up to my porch.

The mother held a tin container which I soon found out was full of cookies.

The Boy looked at me... Then down at his shoes.

His mother gave me a distant smile, I had noticed later, once I got to know her, that she always seemed distant, like she was never there at all.

She looked at the young boy, and stared at him sharply.

"Introduce yourself" she said through a gritted smile.

He looked at me with a questioning look, probably meant for his mother.

"Hi" he said smiling, with two teeth missing,"I'm Oli. I'm seven"

My face lit up " I'm Estelle. I'm seven too."

I grabbed his hand and ran to the backyard.

"Come look at my trampoline"

He looked puzzled before he cheered up and ran with me.

We jumped forever until we couldn't any more.

"I'll be right back"

I ran inside.

I knew what I was doing.

I grabbed a basket, four, dark, lightweight blankets, a jumbo bag of pretzels, and two flashlights. I stillffed them in the basket, and walked outside.

Oli was sitting there twiddling with grass strands.

He looked up, and I began to beam.

"Help me" we stuffed the blankets into the sides of the trampoline, then let them hang.

We blocked out the sun took our pretzels and our flashlights, and went inside our fort.

*end flashback*

I dropped to my knees to pick up my stuff.

Oli didn't seem to notice I was there.

I started to pick things up.

"ew" I stammered " this is food?"

I saw a new pair of feet crouch down, long legs, black jeans.

from the bottom it could have been Oli

I looked up it wasn't him.

he was inkless, which didn't seem to fit his personality.

he wore a white tank

his hair fell and sideswept across his forehead like Oli's used to in High School

he had ray ban sunglasses that loosely hung from his tank top.

he smiled genuinely, and squinted a little.

his dimples rose high on his cheeks.

within a split second he was on the ground, helping Me pick up my things.

" hey I'm Mitch"

"Estelle"

I reached my hand out to shake his, bit retracted soon realizing it was covered in applesauce

he laughed.

Rashly I said, "do you want  to sit with us " I looked at my Ankles "I just saw you sitting by yourself"

he nodded and I smiled

Oli's pov

I saw Estelle, then I didn't. where Did she go?

I then saw her get back in the line...with Mitch?

oh my god no.

I knew what he was.doing this wasn't good.

No more waiting.

I had to do my job now.
