"Alright, so, step one complete." Anna said as she finished up my makeup before walking over to a closet.
"Why is all of your stuff here, anyway?" I asked.
"In case of emergency." Anna said and I snickered.
"What kind of emergency calls for dresses and makeup and... wigs?" I asked.
"Emergencies like this, silly." She said and started to look through some dresses.
I rolled my eyes a little and watched her for a moment. "Why won't you let me look in the mirror?" I asked.
"Because I don't want you to see yourself until I'm finished." She said as she picked out a dress and walked over to me. "Take your clothes off."
"What?"
"Take your clothes off." She repeated. "I'm not going to pay any attention to your body or whatever. I'm just gonna help you get this dress on. Okay?"
I sighed a little and stood up before taking off my clothes and allowed her to help me put on the dress.
"It looks weird. It's not..." I stopped to try to think of the word as I looked down at it.
"You don't fill it out?" She said and nodded. "I know."
"What?" I asked and she laughed a little.
"You don't have enough... chest to fill out the dress. In other words, you don't have boobs."
"Oh. Right. I totally knew that's what you meant." I said and she laughed a little more before stuffing something in the dress. "This feels weird. I'm a little uncomfortable."
"Oh, honey, this isn't even the worst of it. Us girls are usually uncomfortable because we wear all kinds of insane stuff." She said and picked up a pair of heels before setting them in front of me. "Put these on."
"I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk in those." I said and she shrugged.
"You'll be okay. I did pretty well the first time I wore heels. I'm sure you can do it too."
I sighed a little and carefully put the shoes on before carefully walking back over to the chair and sitting down.
"Cross your legs. You have to sit like a girl." Anna said and I sighed a little before crossing my legs.
"Got it. What else?" I asked.
"I just have to put a wig on you, and a mask, and we'll be ready to go." Anna said and I raised my eyebrow a little.
"You're not dressed for the dance." I said.
"I will be. I have my hair and makeup done. All I have to do is put on my dress and shoes." She said and I shrugged.
"Alright." I said and looked at the wall in front of me as she grabbed a brunette wig and carefully placed it on my head, then gave me a mask to put on.
"You can look in the mirror now." She said and turned my chair around so that I'd be facing the mirror.
"What... the.. fuck.." I muttered.
"I told you, I work wonders." She said and clapped her hands a couple times.
"Um.. Wow. Okay.. Thanks." I said and she smiled a bit.
"Always. Now, if anyone speaks to you, and you want to respond, just speak very softly and slightly quietly. That should disguise your voice enough."
"Um.. I'll try to remember that."
"Oh, you'll remember it if you don't want to get busted."
"Yeah, I guess." I muttered a little and she shrugged her shoulders.
"Go ahead and go downstairs. I'll be there in a minute." She said and motioned for me to leave the room.
I nodded a little before walking out and shutting the door before walking downstairs.
After a while, Anna came downstairs and linked her arm with mine.
"Let's go, Mike." She said with a wide smile.
"Did that feel weird to say?" I asked.
"Why?"
"Because I look like a girl right now." I said and she laughed a little.
"Honestly, yes. It did." She said. "But guess what I just found out."
"What?"
"Calum Hood is going to be there." She said excitedly.
"Who?" I asked.
"Um, what do you mean who? Calum Hood! The quarterback." Anna said, as if I paid any attention to football.
"Don't really know who that is, but okay." I said and she sighed a little.
"Oh my god, Michael. Start paying attention to everything. He's so attractive."
"So? Attractiveness isn't everything." I said and she shook her head a little as she led me out to the car.
"I guess you're right. But, you know he comes here every so often, right?" She said and I raised my eyebrow slightly.
"To the kennel?" I asked.
"Yep. To the kennel. He brings his dog here sometimes." She explained.
"Interesting." I said and she let out a small laugh.
"I hope you realize that you actually know who he is." She said and I glanced at her.
"I don't." I said.
"You practically drool over him every time he walks through that door." She said and I gasped slightly.
"You're talking about..?"
"I am." She said and I stopped walking with her.
"What's the matter? Why'd you stop?" She asked.
"I can't be there if he's there! I'll like..freeze!" I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Michael. You will not freeze. Stop being so dramatic." She said. "It's just a school dance."
"I know, but-"
"Come on, Michael. I didn't dress you up like that to not go. Now let's go."
I sighed a little and walked with her to her car.
