Ok, first of all, I truly apologize for not updating in a while. I was kind of overwhelmed with the hard work and dedication that writing books like this took. Im definitely continuing this book but I have no idea how long it will take me to update.
Also, a lot of you have messaged me asking for my Instagram and Twitter, and I have given it to them so I decided id let you guys know if you want them, I will give them to me if you message me, but I don't want to put it up for just anyone yet.
FYI: I am now officially naming the secret hiding place in the library "The Hole" because i figured it would be easier to refer to it if it had a name.
Hope you guys like it! :)
PS I didn't really know what to name this chapter, sorry its kinda bad, im TERRIBLE at titles.

Friday could not have come any faster. The week was full of drama, specifically over Jake. Girls that I’ve never even seen at this school before came up to me and asked me questions about him. So the past week I’ve spent a lot of time in The Hole. Connor called me this morning and I guess he needed me to work tonight, which I wasn’t too happy about that but I’d have to deal with it. Besides, on the plus side, Jake would be there so it wouldn’t be completely boring.
When I pulled into work I noticed we were crowded. I hurriedly parked in the back and went inside. I clocked in, put my apron on, pulled my hair back in a messy bun and went to the counter where Jake was freaking out. There was a line out the door and he was obviously overwhelmed, not knowing what to do. The crowd was getting angry because they had obviously been waiting for a while.
“Jake! Where’s Bill and Connor? Why are you here all by yourself?!” I asked him frantically.
“Connor never showed up and Bill went out to help his wife for something on his break. It was deserted, but then he left and everyone came in.” He said with his eyes wide. He was scrambling to make a cone and dip it in sprinkles. He handed it to the furious customer, and they said
“I wanted Oreos on it, not sprinkles. I’m not paying for this, and I demand a new cone.”
Jake was about to reply but I cut him off.
“I am so sorry sir,” I took the unwanted cone and put it on the counter. Everyone was yelling so loudly I could barely hear myself think. I look at Jake and he looked worried because the crowd was so loud.
“Help me up onto the counter.” I told Jake. He nodded and put his hands on my waist and lifted me up like I weighed nothing. I smiled thinking about his muscles but I cleared it from my mind because now was not the time. I steadied myself on the counter then I put my pinkies in my mouth and whistled as loud as I could manage, then everyone went silent and looked up at me.
“Hi everyone, I’m Lauren and I would like to apologize for the lack of staff here today. Jake here is new and our co-workers had some… er, business to take care of. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and I would like to offer everyone half off of all the ice cream you order today.” I smiled and received some back which was a good sign. “Jake and I will try our best to serve you as quickly as possible. Any issues?” I asked. No response so I thanked them and turned to Jake, signaling him to help me down. I put my hands on his shoulders and his hands found themselves on my waist again. He lifted me up and brought me down to the ground right against his body. My cheeks turned so red, my face felt as if it was on fire.
“You did a great job, you handled that really well. Thanks for saving my ass.” He said with a smirk.
I laughed, “Not like it was the first time I’ve saved your ass.” I said remembering the exploding ice cream machine. i took my arms off his shoulder and going to the second cash register.
