Halloween/\

Nami purred and slipped in between us. I placed my hand in her fur and stroked her head softly. We made it to transfigurations and we began writing. Ron Weasley and Harry Potter came in late, like usual, and were directed to their seats. When charms class ended I saw Hermione run from Ron and Harry. I glared at them as I ran past.

"Stella, you'll be late to potions!" Draco called and looked back.

"Tell Professor Snape I ran into some trouble." I called back and he nodded.

I chased after Hermione and found her in the girls' lavatory.

"Mione, let me in."

"No, I'm fine, just go to class."

"Not without you. Mione, please let me in or I'll crawl under the door." I said and she still refused and I dropped down and literally crawled under the stall door. Aunt Narcissa would kill me for getting the custom made uniform dirty.

I wrapped my arms around her and she turned in my arms and cried in my chest. She just calmed down and we left the stall, only to bump into a mountain troll. Our eyes widened and I shoved Mione into the stall and dropped down. I loved my secret martial arts training over the summer. I flicked back and kept its attention on me.

"You two, do something. I'm running out of space. I'd rather not have to resort to violence against an idiot."

"Uh, find something! Come on Ron." Harry said and they looked for something to throw at the troll. They came up with a few things but it only gained its attention for a minute.

I sighed and pushed off and flipped, kicking a piece of wood at its head. It looked at me and swung its club at me. I jumped on it and stepped up lightly until I reached its shoulders. I flipped up when it tried to hit me off its shoulder. I twisted and hit my foot hard against its head causing it to fall. My only mistake is I didn't move fast enough and my foot got caught in its grip which, in turn made me go down with it. I pried my leg from its grip and sighed when I saw the bruise already forming. I transfigured my short skirt to a long one and changed the shirt design as well. I stood and looked at the boys, and then at Hermione who crawled from under the debris. The teachers came running in and I blinked as McGonagall gasped as she saw me standing next to the fallen troll.

"Ummm, this can be explained." I said and Hermione stepped to my side.

"It was my fault professor McGonagall."

"Miss Granger."

"I went looking for the troll. I thought I could handle it, but I was wrong. If Harry, Ron and Stella hadn't come and found me I'd probably be dead."

"Be that as it may, it was an extremely foolish thing to do, I expected more rational behavior on your part, and I am very disappointed in you miss Granger. Five points will be taken from Griffindor for your serious lack of judgment. As for you three, well I just hope you realize how fortunate you are, not many first-years can take on a fully grown mountain troll and live to tell the tale, five points will be awarded to each of you, for sheer dumb luck." Professor McGonagall said and looked at me. "Will you be alright, Miss Black?"

"Ah, yes, professor, I'll be alright." I said and smiled slightly despite the pain I couldn't block anymore.

I knew it was fractured, it fractured against the troll's thick skull. It took a lot of force to knock it out, and the impact had been a double edged sword. My master hadn't known how hard a troll skull was when he taught me. I looked at McGonagall as she left and then turned my attention to Quirrell. My eyes narrowed slightly as my mind went through the possibilities of how he knew a troll was in the school and came to the conclusion he let it in himself. The third floor. What ever was on the third floor Quirrell wanted it. I wouldn't let him get it. I walked with a slight barely noticeable limp and got past the defense professor and the potions professor. Hermione, Ron and Harry followed me and we were almost to the common room when I heard my name.
