A/N: Photo of her outfit today is above. So basic AHAHA.. On with the story!
================================Audrey's POV
Okay. Weird.
The red Lamborghini slows down to match my pace. I quicken my walking pace and again, the red car follows and matches me. I slow down, it slows down. I speed up, they speed up.
The tinted window suddenly rolls down and an all too familiar deep velvety voice calls out.
"Hey stranger! Need a lift?" Connor asked, lowering his head and looking up at me through the opened window.
"Nah, I'm good." I shake my head and continue walking, a little weirded out with the fact that he was just following me. Maybe I'm being over dramatic but I'm not going to lie to you, I'm paranoid. My paranoia sky-rocketed ever since I saw that 'shadow man'.
"Hey, I insist." He gives me an adorable half smile, his dimples showing.
"Why?" I asked, skeptically. Seriously what is up with him. He's never spoken to me since, ever, and now he's suddenly all buddy-buddy with me.
"I just saw you walking down the street and I thought you maybe wanted a ride to wherever you were going."
This is the time where any girl would be majorly creeped out or be dead with the amount of happiness over the cutest boy at school paying attention to her. I mean what would any person do when someone was literally was just following them.
"No offence Connor but I'd rather not go in the car with you." I awkwardly replied, rubbing my arm up and down. "For all I know, you could be a demon in disguise." I again, awkwardly joked.
"I'm being a little too forward aren't I?" He asks, scratching the back of his untamed hair.
"Yeah just a tad bit..." I nod.
"I was just wondering if you were going to gi-"
An unsettling cold feeling suddenly dawned upon us which stops Connor midway through his sentence. The street becomes eerily quiet. His face hardens, his posture stiffens by the sudden change in the environment. His fist tightens around the wheel, his knuckles turning as white as snow.
An unnatural shiver went down my spine.
The sky above us that was once a beautiful bright blue was now turning gray and dark. The wind picks up, making it look like a storm was about to be unleashed. And across from us on the street, was a man. It was the same man from the dark. I step back, eyes widening at the sight across from us.
The man stood there in the middle of what looked like a mini tornado, surrounded with unbelievable darkness. It's like he was controlling the course of the air around us. The wind gets wilder and more dangerous, harder to fight to stay standing. My hair was flying everywhere, plants being blown away.
Okay how is there no one else on the street seeing this?!
The 'shadow' man twirls his hand in a circular motion, creating a small tornado on his palm. The other hand creating demons all the while his striking blue eyes never cut contact with my own. I watch him raise both of his hands and unleash the whirlwind of monsters.
A loud shrill cry echoes through the empty street.
"GET IN!" Connor shouts over the deafening cries of the demons running at us, he frantically opens the passenger door. "Audrey! Get it now!"
I couldn't move. I was frozen in place with fear.
"AUDREY!" Connor shouts, snapping me out of my scared state.
I hurriedly get in the car, slamming the door whilst Connor floors the gas pedal. He speeds over the limit, driving as fast as he can. The demonic cries started to gain on us.
"What the hell is happening?!" I look back at the things chasing us.
Their snake like bodies as big as the car we're in were slithering on the streets in inhuman speed with tails fading into a deep purple flame, with only two front arms with razor sharp claws helping it with its speed and with what looks like a murky green liquid oozing out of its scales. Their faces were as deadly as its body, with dark red bloodshot eyes, razor sharp fangs that could tear through human flesh.
The wind still as dangerous as it was, blowing over trees. Thunder clapping in the sky.
"Why isn't anyone else freaking out o...over that, that thing chasing us?!"
Connor still speeding through the streets.
"Only we can see them. The eyes of a mere mortal are too weak to pick up the magic around us."
"What do you mean?!"
Connor explains, trying to dodge the purple flames thrown by the demons. "Mortals can't see them. They're hidden. Anything supernatural is hidden from the eyes of a normal person, invisible to their eyes. To us we see the demons, to a mere human they just see a storm coming in."
"So you're telling me, that whatever is happening to us right now is pretty much like the Percy Jackson series?!"
"Uhhh.. sure?" He nods, "Grab my phone in my bag under your seat, call Ryder. NOW!"
"Okay! Okay!" I quickly grab the bag from under the seat and frantically turn his phone on and look for Ryder's number and press on it.
"Put it on speaker Audrey."
The phone rings and we wait for him to pick up whilst Connor dodges the flame.
"Sup man." Ryder's deep, raspy voice greets us.
"They found her."
"Wait who found me?!" I ask, confused.
"What?! Where are you?" Ryder's voice raises in panic.
"Yo man where are you guys?" Another voice comes through the phone.
"His demons are coming after us, we'll try and lose them then we'll meet you at the quarters." Connor shouts over the loud cries of the demons.
"We'll see you there, be careful." Ryder ends the call.
"What are you guys talking about?!"
The demons were right next to the car now, slithering side by side with us. They ram their bodies to both sides of the car, jerking us. They do it again and rattles us.
"I'll explain everything when we get to the quarters." Connor shouts again. "Take the wheel Audrey."
"WAIT WHAT?!" I frantically grab the wheel as he suddenly lets go. I try to dodge the flames flying everywhere.
He rolls down his window and sticks half of his body out, facing the demons outside.
"CONNOR WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I shout at him, trying to manoeuvre my way through the streets. "GET BACK IN THE CAR!"
"JUST KEEP DRIVING!" He holds his right hand up, aiming his palm at one of the ugly little shits.
A wave of water bursts out of his palm and crashes onto the demon, drowning it. The two other demons chasing us releases painfully loud inhuman cry.
... And all I wanted to do today was go to the freaking library.
