Marinette heard a knock and moved lazily in bed, unwilling to wake up. She thought back to the previous night and paused for a second. She then felt under her pillow and the cotton of her soft mattress and jumped up with a jolt. How did she get from the village to the castle? Why had Tikki...? Wait, Tikki!

She scrambled out of bed and opened the door to meet Alya holding her morning breakfast like expected. Marinette snatched it from her quickly and thanked her gratefully, "You're amazing, Alya, thank you! You can clean the room later, I just have things to sort out."

The princess slammed the door on Alya's face unintentionally, guilt triggering her just as she had done so. She would apologize later, like always. Right now, Marinette had a Kwami to worry about.

Marinette grabbed the Miraculous from her pocket and placed it into her earlobes once again in a hurried manner. Tikki appeared in front of her and Marinette was more than ready with breakfast in her hand just in case Tikki needed energy. Luckily for them both, the kwami seemed good as new- her smile wider than she ever wore it, her dress brighter than her normal colour.

The princess stared at her in shock and then asked, "How are you not dying?"

Tikki burst in a fit of giggles, answering, "Kwamis don't only absorb weaknesses, Marinette. They benefit from rest as well. That's why I was so insistent on you not leaving the castle in an exhausted state."

Marinette just kept staring, not sure what to feel at that moment. The princess slowly placed the tray of breakfast down on the desk for Tikki to eat because Marinette did not feel the need to eat anymore. In fact, she was more curious than hungry.

"Tell me everything you know about Miraculouses," Marinette ordered, folding her arms, "Now."

The Kwami held her hand up to her mouth, resisting the urge to laugh. With a mouth full of food, she spoke, "The demanding character does not suit you."

Marinette frowned, shaking her head and tried again, "Please?"

"Do you rather want to discuss the reason you had gotten here safely?"

The princess gasped, thinking back to a black cloak and bright green eyes that stared at her through the night. Chat Noir. How could she have forgotten? How did he know where her bedroom was? And most importantly, what was he doing in Gollieb country?

"I don't understand," Marinette said, almost in a whisper, "I thought Chat Noir hated the royal guards and anything to do with the higher class."
