The chapter begins now:
Maggie calls to me from the other side of the room and, oddly enough, her sisters are nowhere in sight. My body thrums from excitement at the prospect of a new world.
"What are you doing here?" I ask her and now I notice for the first time that my brothers and sisters have yet to make a sound. I turn around and see them standing frozen.
"Well we thought the best way for you to be acquainted with this world and to meet new people would be for you to live like one. You look like a teenager in this world so you shall be attending high school a place of learning and social interaction. In the study, last room to the right, there is a whole bookshelf designed for you to use while studying. We have got each of your brothers and sisters jobs to keep them busy, look on the desk the file there explains everything. This house is one of the many we sisters own so we have decided to let you live here. You are in a town because we didn't want you to be overwhelmed but the city isn't too far away if you drive- oh yes that reminds me, Tom will be your chauffeur so you don't have to worry about the car in garage or destinations he knows everywhere. He's a dwarf our cousin, Nicole, gifted us from her realm but we simply didn't have a use for him, us sisters live rather simply while exploring the realms made by our family. I think that's everything... No! In this world, you must not shift in front of the inhabitants. They don't take nicely to things they can't explain. That's another thing about these creatures- they call themselves humans- they're always trying to find ways to explain and understand their world. Fascinating aren't they. My brother- their creator- thinks so too. Anyway... That's it. Rosie will come visit in a week to see your progress. Enjoy little one!"
Then, just like before, the sister fades from my sight and the world begins to move again. My brothers and sisters mutter vague sounds of wonder behind me and I just try to take in the room around us. On a small table in the corner to my left sits a note, 'Go explore your bedrooms. We left presents. - Maggie, Abby and Rosie.' I smile at the thought of presents, I really want to see what they got us.
"So, we should look for our rooms," Noah voices behind me making me startle and drop the note.
"Yeah," I reply to him amazed that he had been able to, like always, sneak up behind me. Raina picks up the note and lets out an excited scream before dashing out of the room with Noah obediently following behind.
"What's got her so excited?" Jackson asks with his arm around Olivia's waist.
"Probably the presents in our rooms." I tell him and just like Raina he speeds walks out the room dragging his mate behind him.
"Shall we go as well Ally?" Aiden, for once, is being the calmest sibling- though I can see him just bouncing at the idea of presents. For reasons, I don't understand my siblings and I have always been excited by the prospect of a gift. Maybe it's because ever since we've been young we were taught to treasure everything we have and what we are given or perhaps it's the surprise that a present can bring.
