{Myrna POV}
There he was.
Majestically, he held a sword in his hand, his staff in the other. The old wizard seemed to try to catch his breath.
Nonetheless, we obeyed to his order, this clear order to get up and fight for our dear lives.
I brushed off two goblins, grabbing my bow and arrows, hanging the quiver over one shoulder as I loaded the weapon. The grip was a bit grimy, since it had been held by those nasty mutants. I started shooting Goblins here and there, making sure their miserable little lives were ended before they could do any more harm to my friends or me.
Rigmor had grabbed the nearest sword and pressed the blade into the chest of a Goblin that nearly managed to attack me.
"Thank you!" I yelled, pushing one off with my bow.
"No problem!"My eye fell on Gandalf, who was beating up the Goblins as if he was young again, swiftly turning and bashing his sharp blade against his enemies. It was clear he did it many times before and he was skilled at it. I had never seen him fight like that before, I realized while shooting a mutant between the eyes.
"He wields the Foe-Hammer, the Beater, bright as daylight!" The Great Goblin shouted, an anxious look on his ugly face. Nevertheless, he decided to charge into battle as well. Kili shoved his sword up a Goblin, ripping him open.
I turned away as its intensities spilled out over the steel, the Dwarf that wielded this weapon growling in both disgust and anger.
The mace of one Goblin barely missed my head as I ducked down, stabbing his toe with the point of one of my arrows.
I pushed him back with all the force I could yield, but the ugly creature prepared another swing of his weapon. Thorin however managed to block it, the enemy staggering backwards and tumbling down in one of his own chasms.
Well, that was a close call.
I gathered some arrows as the battle went on around me, cries of pain and force echoing through the halls.
Gandalf slashed his sword into a slightly larger Goblin, and the mutant was confused for a second before the wizard pushed its head off with his staff.
He turned to the Company.
"Follow me. Quick! Run!"I bolted after him, hacking in on every Gremlin that managed to come into our way. The bridges weren't really stable, and with every step I took I felt it wobble underneath my feet.
My lungs burned, the Goblins close on our heels.
They were with legions; hundreds, no, thousands of the foul creatures started to chase us down their own trap.I shuddered as I thought about how those things were even born, I hadn't seen any feminine Goblins after all.
Radagast had told us before about how Orcs were born, and I wondered if everything was exactly the same as it came to those tinier, less terrifying monsters. ""Quickly!" Gandalf yelled. Suddenly, I bumped into Dwalin, who had his eyes on the path before us. A line of Goblins approached us at top speed.
"Post!" he shouted, starting to chop the ropes on a side of the bridge. All other Dwarfs seemed to know what it meant, since they all wrapped their arms around the pole that the tattooed man had cut loose.
"Charge!" They started to run towards the monsters, and I could grab the pole in time before being walked over by Nori behind me. With swift movements, we pushed Goblins off the edges, but after a few moments, we had to drop the long beam.
Rigmor caught up next to me, watching my back as we continued to kill the creatures around us.
"Still alive?"
"Very much so."I chuckled and shot one through the leg, making it yelp and stumble towards the edge of a bridge for support, but with a tiny accidental bump from his fellow Goblins, he leapt to his death.
"Cut the ropes!" The Dwarfs did as Thorin told them, and a part of the bridge fell outward, finishing off a couple of Goblins.
"Quickly!" Gandalf shouted again. We continued running, smashing the Goblins away, halting on a section as some of the Company sliced the ropes. We lunged forwards as if we were on a swing. "Jump!"
As we reached the other side, I launched myself to the surface. However, not everyone managed to come to the other side, and as the bridge swung back towards where we first came from, several mutants hopped onto it. This time, everyone managed to get onto the other side and a few cut other ropes, the remaining Goblins plummeting down to their deaths with the section of the bridge.
We kept on running, and it felt like I hadn't slept in days. Gandalf reached my side.
"Listen closely, Myrna. I will slam my staff against those hanging stones over there, you know what to do."
I nodded, waiting for Gandalf to strike. As his staff made contact with the rock, I flicked my wrist, a huge boulder falling down in front of us, making it the perfect device to crush the enemies on our path.
However, after the end of the bridge we had to jump on another one and we had to fight again. The end seemed to be near, I could feel it. But when we set foot on one of the final bridges, we got stopped mid-track.
The Great Goblin burst through the floor underneath us and slammed his sceptre down on the wood.
"You thought you could escape me?"He flung his mace in a warning manner, causing Gandalf to stagger backwards. "What are you going to do now, wizard?" Gandalf stepped forward, poking the monster in his eye with the tip of his staff.
"Ow! Ow!" The Great Goblin's greasy hand reached up to hold his face. Another step and Gandalf slashes him across his massive belly. Crying like a small child, the enemy fell on his knees, clutching his stomach tightly.
"That'll do it." The Goblin spoke his final words. The wizard cut the Great Goblin King's throat with a swift movement.
However, the weight that drops down onto the bridge is not convenient and causes the wood to shake dangerously. I swallowed thickly, holding onto Rigmor's arm since I knew what was coming.
We fell down, the section of the bridge slamming town onto the cavern's wall. Instead of breaking, the wooden installation slides down the surface, demolishing all the other bridges in its way as we made our way to the bottom.
I held onto one of the boards tightly, closing my eyes, not wanting to see the moment I die. We slowed down as we reached the base, and all I can recall next is a horrible pain as a couple of Dwarfs crushed me under their weight.
"Well, that could've been worse." Bofur said midst of all men groaning.
A sigh of relief left my lips despite the pain, but the heavy corpse of the Goblin king followed the pile of Dwarfs soon after."You've got to be joking!" Dwalin hissed. We started crawling up again, checking ourselves and each other for injuries.
Suddenly, Kili shouted Gandalf's name. I followed his gaze and saw thousands of Goblins approaching us from above, all charging into battle.
"There's too many! We can't fight them!" Gandalf's expression hardened.
"Only one thing will save us: daylight! Come on! Here, on your feet!" And we ran again.
