Jazmyne
"Tremaine, I really need to go." I whined trying to get out of his hold, but he wouldn't let me go. "Babe, come on. If I could stay another night you know I will. But I have to get back home today." My neck stretched up and I kissed his lips.
"Call and tell them you have to work." He rolled us over so he was now on top of me.
My fingers stroked along his jawline, while I stared into his light brown eyes. A sigh left my mouth as I glanced over his smooth, dark brown skin. Again, a heavy breath slipped through my lips.
I wished it was that easy for me but it simply wasn't. Not if my mother, Michelle and her husband, Jack, had a say in it. I simply hated how my life had turned out.
I traced his thin beard and locked eyes with him once again. "Trey, if it was that easy I would tell them that every day. But they know my work schedule by heart. It's no lying to them, you know this. I wish we could just go somewhere far away from here." I stressed knowing that could never happen. Especially, not until I was eighteen and could be on my own.
"Fuck what they have to say, Jazmyne! You're seventeen, you don't have to live there. You could just stay here with me." He said pissed off as his face contorted into a frustrated glare.
"We've tried that, Tremaine! And it did nothing but get you in trouble." I pointed out to him. "If they even knew I was even here with you they would have you arrested. Believe me Jack will find a way to make that happen. He did it once before and I don't want a repeat of that happening again." I stressed irritable. I was tired of us having to go back and forth on that same subject of me staying with him. When we both knew the outcome.
Two years ago, Trey tried to help me get away from my family. He was willing to leave with me against his own family's wishes. Once he found out about the physical and mental abuse I had been enduring. He simple didn't care.
But with Jack being on the police force, my folks had all the resources they really needed. Once they found out about us running away, Jack twisted up a story. He made up a lie saying that Trey had kidnapped and was manipulating me.
They went as far as using our three year age difference against us. At that time I was only fifteen and Trey had just turned eighteen. It took them two weeks to find us and they had him arrested.
That same day, Jack gave me ultimatum. He said he'll drop the charges against Trey if I promised to stop seeing him. For a year, I tried to stay away from Tremaine, but he wouldn't let me go. And I loved him, so, I couldn't stay away from him either.
So, Trey and I tried to keep the fact we were still dating a secret for as long as we could. But given the fact that, I had a twin sister who was crazy in love with him, made it almost impossible.
Jazlyn, my twin sister had been trying for years to get his attention but she failed. And when he pursed me, she couldn't understand why. Especially given the fact that we were practically identical, excluding the fact my skin tone was a light brown and she was a few shades darker that me. Jazlyn was also taller than me. I was five, three, whereas she was five, six. And she had my mothers, long, straight and thin chocolate brown hair. Whereas mine was long, nappy, thick and sandy red.
Regardless of our similarities and differences, Jazlyn, simply hated me. I never knew what I'd ever done to her, but she didn't like me. Since we were twins, I thought we should've been close, but we were so far from that.
I didn't have any ill feelings towards my sister, though. Deep down I knew it was all of our mother's doing, really. She was the favorite and I was just there. A slave to them for whatever.
