Chapter 4: The kiss
Emma's POV
The moment the car was parked, I tried to get out. Henry held my hand. I looked at him.
"I love you", he whispered.
"I love you too", I said placing a light kiss on his lips.
It was meant to be light, but it became more than that. It was the Henry effect. The moment my lips touched his, something passed between us. It was the most beautiful thing. I ended up ravaging him. He pulled back shortly.
"Sex in the car, that's something we haven't done. What do you think?"
I laughed, "That will happen in your dreams".
"Let's just go before I lose it", Henry said.
The club was not as full as I predicted it would be. It was perfect. I did not like crowded places. Henry was walking beside me when he stopped me suddenly.
"You know how I always say you are beautiful without make-up? You are".
I turned and looked at him.
"What are you trying to say?"
"You probably shouldn't have kissed me like you did. Your lipstick isn't just on your lips".
I took out my phone from my clutch-bag and looked at my reflection. Henry was lying, the lipstick was on my lips, except not the way it was before. There were parts where it seemed like I hadn't applied anything at all.
"I'll be right back" I said as I hurried to the bathroom.
I walked as fast as I could. There was nothing on my mind except the bathroom, but oh, wait...
I stopped dead in my tracks. The girl just a few meters across me looked familiar. It wasn't my imagination; I had definitely seen her before. Onnica! I couldn't believe my eyes. I had found her. Out of a long list of clubs we had chosen Pierre's and here Onnica was. I walked as fast as I could towards her, hoping she did not move.
"Hi. You are Onnica, right?"
I definitely caught her off guard. Her mind seemed to be on some planet.
She nodded, rubbing her hands together.
"You are?" she asked.
I surveyed her. She looked genuinely surprised.
"Emma, Emma Cortez-Watson. We met yesterday at the park. You remember Nathan, don't you?"
Her eyes grew bigger in size. She just stared at me.
Onnica's POV
It had only been a few minutes since April left and I was busy thinking of what she had said. I didn't get why she thought Jesse was after me, or that I was interested in him. Did Samantha think that way too?
"Hi. You are Onnica, right?"
A voice shook me out my thoughts. I sighed quietly. The person was behind me so I didn't know who it was. I was in no mood to talk to strangers. What if it was one of Samantha's friends that I hadn't been introduced to coming to tell me to stay away from Jesse?
I turned slowly. My eyes widened a bit, but I was able to conceal it. That girl... That girl was standing right in front of me. I thought I would never see her or her husband ever again. I nodded at her question dumbly.
Lord knew at that time that I recognized her but I didn't feel like company so I feigned surprise. I hoped I was wrong and that it simply wasn't the girl I met yesterday, just a girl who looked like her.
