Prologue
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I asked hesitantly, glancing over at Charlie. He seemed so relaxed, like he always sat on a roof at three in the morning.
"Sure." He turned and looked at me expectantly his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Why do you always wear beanies? Not that you don't look totally hot wearing them-" I slapped my hand over my mouth. What the hell Melanie?
He smirked at me and leaned back on his hands, letting his legs dangled off the edge of the roof. "So you think I'm hot?"
"Have I ever told you how great you are at deflection?"
"Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?"
"Stop trying to distract me Charlie!" I slapped away the hand he was running through my hair.
"I will if it worked." He said smirking that beautifully annoying smirk of his.
"You are so frustrating sometimes." I laughed, shaking my head.
He chuckled along with me. He knew he had me with his beanie power, it made it so hard to concentrate around him.
"It's a long, pathetic and really pitiful story. You wouldn't want to know." He chuckled sadly.
But I do want to know. I wanted to know everything about this beautiful boy with the beanie who tugged at my heartstrings with his beanie power since the first time I had ever laid eyes on him.
"I've got plenty of time, besides," I smiled at him and looked into his gorgeous eyes. "I love sad stories, they're kind of my thing."
