Out of the shock of having a half naked Caleb Heartman right in front of me, with a sandwich I might add, I decided to go into shock mode.
Shock mode was whenever I was in an awkward situation, nervous or scared shitless, I basically shut down. You can try and communicate with me, but I just wont budge. My mind zones out into Ally world and all I can think about is nothing. I know what you're thinking 'You are crazy Ally, no one can think of nothing!'. Oh but I can assure you that it is very possible. One time I thought about nothing too much and I fainted. But that was because Sydney wanted me to ride Kingda Ka at six flags and she knows what happens when I panic, so she decided it would be fun to freak me out. Believe me it was not the least bit fun.
For a few seconds I come out of shock mode and hear Caleb say "Allison? Are you ok?" I see him wave his hands in front of my eyes and then im in the zone again.
I feel his hand grasp my arm and pull me into the house. My eyes were still open wide as I was seated on what felt like a couch.
I heard Caleb foots steps fade away and I soon came back to reality. Taking in my surroundings, I stood up from the couch.
His house was nice. Two leather couches lined 2 of the 4 walls of the room. My eyes immediately leaned on the amazingly beautiful chandelier on the ceiling. The decorations were coordinated with the color scheme and photos on the wall weren't the least bit crooked. As my eyes scanned the floor, I couldn't find a single scratch on the hard wood. I walked over the the fire place that had a few pictures upon the mantel. The first photo was of what looked like Caleb, his parents and a little girl who looked a few years younger than Caleb. I assumes this girl is his little sister because of their resemblance to one another. His big blue eyes are almost identical to the little girls and their straight brown hair made them look like twin born a few years apart.
"Whatcha looking at?" I voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Oh um. I was just um, looking?" I say not meaning it to be a question but it sounded that way. I slowly turned around to see the now covered chest of Caleb.
I was slightly relieved that he was wearing a shirt, so I dont go into shock mode again. I also found it amusing that he was still eating his sandwich.
"So whats all this junk?" He states pointing to my guitar and song book that is sitting by the door. I completely forgot that I had brought my stuff with me here.
"It's my work that you told me to bring. If you would have let me finish my sentence on the phone you would have known." I say with a hint of confidence in my voice.
"Not my fault that I really didn't care." He vocalized with a hell of a lot more confidence than I could ever give off.
"Well you can ask me the questions for the project while I work on my song. Ok?"
Well that was really unlike me. Being sassy is not really my thing with people I don't know all that well.
I walked over to my song book and guitar and picked it up, bringing it over to the couch that I was sitting on before. I opened the case and took out my prized possession, my baby, the only thing keeping me sane and set it on my lap.
I can feel Caleb's eyes set on me as I open my song book to the page I had ended on.
"Can you stop staring and ask me the questions?" I say.
"I'm sorry that my eyes are very attracted to your boobs." He mummbles.
"Oh my gosh! You perv!" I screech covering up my chest area with my arms. Caleb began to laugh uncontrollably all of the sudden.
"What?" I ask standing up,placing my hands on my hips and putting most of my weight on my right leg.
Between laughs Caleb managed to talk. "I was-" He break out in laughter. "I was just kidding Allison!" He starts laughing again. "I would never find you-" again he laughs "Attractive!" And I let him laugh on for about 30 seconds more before I spoke.
"You can call me Ally. I hate it when people call me Allison. And is that some fucked up way of calling me ugly or boobless? I cant decide."
My words cause Caleb to calm down and his laughs turn into just a few giggles.
"Eh. I was calling you boobless, but ugly works too." He laughs again at his own 'joke' and continues "And do you think I enjoy when people call me Caleb?" He let's out another laugh and then plops himself on the couch.
"Gee thanks, you are real sweet." The sarcasm in my voice was very evident. "Well then, what do you likes to be called Caleb?" I say sitting on the couch opposite of the one he was sitting on.
"My little sister and friends call me Cal." he calmly states kicking his feet on to the coffee table, intertwining his fingers and placing his hands behind his head.
Ha! I was right! That was his little sister!
"Ok, Cal, let's make a little deal here. " He narrows his eyes at me as I make my proposition.
"You call me Ally and I will call you Cal. Do we have a deal?" I get and walk over to him and reach out my hand for a hand shake to seal the deal trying to make this time we have to spend together less painful.
His hand reached out to grab mine and we shake on it. "Looks like we have a deal Ally, but let's make this deal a little but more interesting." He proposes. I cross my arms over my chest and question his addition to the deal.
"What do you mean by more interesting?"
