Ch.4 Breakfast with Derby

I woke up at 7:30am and everyone is still asleep... but not everyone, the teachers and the staffs are awake because I hear footsteps walking around the building. I looked up at the ceiling thinking about my dad or wondering why little Petey is hanging around with those two idiots. Petey is too sweet to be hanging around with them and doesn't deserve to be bullied or drag around with them. I sighed because another thing is on my mind, if I should get up or stay in bed... "fuck it" I said as I got up and walked to my closet to change. I changed into my uniform but I put a black beanie on before I walked out of the dorm room.

As I walked around I saw a kid with a light blue vest on and he looked tow-headed but he looked cute or... wealthy? He looked up at my direction and I stopped walking and looked at him. We stayed like that for awhile but then he started to walk towards me with his hands in his pants pocket. I stay in the same spot waiting for him to be in front of me, he stopped in front of me "why are you up so early?" He said with a eyebrow raised "why not?" I said "I'm just curious but please don't answer if you don't want to" he said, I stood in silence, waiting for him to say something but I said something first because he was looking around awkwardly "why are you up so early?" I ask. He looked up at me "I was going to go get breakfast" he said 'wait.... breakfast?!' I thought to myself "there's breakfast!" I nearly yelled at him. He tenses up a little at my yelling "yes, Im assuming that your new here?" He said while rubbing his right ear "sorry for yelling and I am new here" I said as I feel my cheeks heated up from my yelling "ah, but If I were you I won't eat food at the cafeteria because Edna coughs and spits in the food" he said "she what's?!" I yelled again "enough with the yelling!" He said covering his ears "sorry... she spits in the food?" I said "yes she does, so I wanted to ask a pretty girl to go with me to the Harrington's house for a better breakfast" he said while scratching his neck "good luck with that" I said smirking as I walked pass him, "hey" he said putting a hand on my shoulder, "ugh, could I just walk away without being annoyed" I said before turning around to face him.

He just chuckled "I mean you y/n, I would like if you want to come with me and get a decent breakfast" he said with a smile, "how did you know my name?" I said getting a little confused from what he said "oh I know your name because I heard from the arts teacher, she said that we're having a new student tomorrow and she said your name" he said with a grin, all I did was nodded because I didn't know what to say and so We walked to the Harrington house. He stopped in front of the door and turn towards me "I'm sorry, I forgot my manners, my name is Derby Harrington" he said while shaking my hand but I just smiled at him and it looked like he blushed a little. We were inside and it looked so amazing and cool, I never knew how rich these people are. "I know, its amazing" he said with pride.

I looked around the room and I saw a fire place, some pictures, some book shelves and stairs that lead upstairs. I saw two chairs next to the fire place and decided to sit down on one, Derby sat beside me with his leg over his right leg.

"Good morning Derby" a boy said walking down the stairs, he wore a light blue vest on with a long white sleeve shirt and light brown pants on and also he had brown hair and dark shoes. "Good morning Tad" Said Derby "oh, who is this lovely lady?" Tad said walking up to me with his hand out "hi, my name is y/n" I said while shaking his hand "hello, my name is Tad Spencer" he said kissing my hand. I blushed a little while giggling. I think I heard Derby growled a little but I just shrugged off. "Ahem!" Derby said behind Tad "oh sorry Derby, I'll make you guys some breakfast" he said while walking upstairs "thank you Tad" Derby said. I looked around my surroundings wondering 'how are kids are so rich?' "My father and mother is a very wealthy people and so are the rest of the pupils that are wearing aqaberry vest" Derby said getting me out of my thoughts "Aqaberry?" I said confused of the name 'it sounds like ape berry?' I thought "It's a name of a store that sells Aqaberry vest and shirts and also sweaters" Derby said again "wow, I think I heard of that place before... is it that place for the rich and snobby?" I said smirking at Derby but he just rolled his eyes at me "yes because they're price is very high" he said crossing his arms.

I chuckled at my little insult I gave him. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and it was Tad. He had a tray of twos plates with two pancakes, three strips of bacon and scrambled eggs. Tad passed a plate to me and one to Derby with forks and spoons to me and him. I started to eat the pancakes first because it was calling my name. "I'll get you guys some tea" Tad said before walking upstairs. "So y/n, how was your first day?" Derby asked me with bacon in his mouth "I didn't go to class because Jimmy, Gary and Petey showed me around the school" I said with pancakes in my mouth. Derby eyes widen and he choked on his food a little "Gary?!" He said trying to catch his breathing "yea... why?" I said while patting him on the back which made him blushed a little "he's never that nice to a new student but if it was a girl he'll never talk to them" Derby said coughing a little "well, I guess I'm lucky" I said grinning.

Derby looked at me in the eyes until I looked at him back, he looked away "maybe he's planning something" derby mumbled to himself which I heard "like what?" I said leaning forward "he plans something every time so if I were you I would be careful around him" Derby said before we heard I assuming was Tad with our tea and I was right. He gave me a cup of tea and another to Derby and he walked upstairs again. I drank my tea and it taste delicious and some how relaxing, 'probably this is what rich feels like?' I thought to myself "I know, it's relaxing" Derby said while drinking his tea. I tensed a little "could you read my mind?!" I said getting a little freaked out. Derby smirked at my question "no I can't read minds, I just know by the look on your face" Derby said grinning. I rolled my eyes at him while he chuckled a little.

I looked at the clock and it was 8:30am 'holy shit, how long was I here?!' I thought to myself "you've been here for an hour and I assuming you should get ready for your class because classes starts at 9:00" Derby said before taking a sip of his tea.

I jumped at the response "how the hell you do that?!" I yelled at him for getting me more scared.

"Stop with the yelling, I'm just right here!" Derby yelled at me while rubbing his left ear. "ENOUGH WITH THE YELLING!!" Some one yelled from upstairs. I tried to not to laugh from people yelling but when I looked at Derby and he was about to lose it and soon we laughed so hard we heard someone banging on the second floor trying to shut us up but failed.

I wipe the tears from laughing and so did Derby "that w-was funny" I said trying to catch my breathe "y-you should g-get going now y/n" Derby said "I don't want you to be late on your first day of school" I nodded, I got up and was about to walk to the door but I decided to do something. I ran to Derby to give him a hug, he blushed madly red but hugged back anyway "thanks for breakfast Derby" I said "no problem, anything for a beautiful lady like you" he said rubbing my back.

Once I was out of the Harrington house I started to run to the girls dorm room to grab my bag but I guess I was running to fast and bummed in some kid.

"Hey, watch it moron!" That person said but once I looked up at that person...

It was Gary.
