The Unaffected, a story about children affected by a virus, and those that are not, who are in danger, a story about survival:

TEN YEARS AGO every human eighteen years and older died. It was from a virus, caused by the meteor sent down to earth by alien forces. And now, almost all of the solely child survivors are inflicted with the same virus. On the first hour of their eighteenth birthday, they drop dead. There is no known cure. Some children, however, are not affected by the virus; one can distinguish those children by the lack of a mark that the affected ones have--green spots on the right side of their lower face.

At fifteen, Scarlet is one of the "special" ones. After the last of her family perished five years ago, she joined a group of kids that moves from place to place, raiding towns for any food and other necessities they can find, barely surviving.

But when the Unaffected children, Scarlet included, get abducted by aliens who are rapidly eliminating the human race, she finds herself trapped on a distant planet, no way of getting back, not knowing where to go. But when the opportunity comes, she and several others, including handsome, mysterious Nick, escape and set off to look for the antidote to the virus. They must find it before it's too late--and the human race disappears.

By the way, the tense (present, past, future) will change sometimes, as well as the... person, I guess you'd call it? (first, second, third). It should not be confusing to anyone who can read properly.
