They say that your hardest goodbye is also your favorite hello. In this case, it was one-hundred percent true.

Katrina Grace Mikaelson

She was known as the quiet girl, but also as the girl who spoke her mind. She was shy at first but once you get to know her, she never shuts up. She was smart, funny, talented, and to everyone else, Katrina was just another girl.

But to Grayson Dolan, she was Kat.

October thirty-first, Katrina's preschool class had thrown a Halloween party. When she noticed that the two identical looking kids from her table weren't attending; she insisted on bringing them candy. Her mother and father thought that the idea of leaving a school function for two kids was preposterous, but the tantrum the brunette threw was enough to make the Mikaelson's knock on Lisa Dolan's front door. Five year old Katrina shared her candy with Ethan and Grayson that night. At that age, she never would have thought that that act of kindness would start the beginning of an amazing friendship.

Now, ten years later, that friendship grew into a connection that was unbreakable. The three spent almost every day together. When the twins started making videos, Katrina was their voice of encouragement. When Kat started getting into music, Ethan and Grayson supported her and told her that she could be anything she wanted. The boys were there for her when her dad left, and she returned the favor when the bullying began. She was one of the very few to stick by their side after their vine career took off. The twins knew that Katrina spoke her mind but after countless times of them holding her back from punching people at school, they knew it was time to leave.

Ethan and Grayson's move across the country was heartbreaking, but Katrina sucked up her selfishness and told them it was for the best. When they visited home, the three spent every minute together. It was almost as if they never left. But when they did, she would hold onto the hope that one day, they would stay.

But this time, it was different.

One of them wasn't coming back.
