Katara stared at herself in the mirror as she applied the red paint against her tan skin. Her reflection wasn't the normal Katara most people noticed her as.
Her tan skin was traced with red marks all over her face and arms, she placed the gold arm cuffs on her upper arms and placed the veiled hat upon her brown hair so that it covered most of her recognizable facial features.
By daytime she was Katara the Water Bending Master, but by night she was the Painted Lady.
Occasionally from time to time the original Painted Lady would come to her and give her missions which Katara accepted, soon enough she became known to the public as the New Painted Lady, a young vigilante stopping crime.
The Painted Lady had come to her the night before telling her of a scroll that was deeply guarded in a Fire Nation tower. This scroll had the plans of Ozai's attack on the Sozen's Comet, if Katara could get her hands on it without them knowing who she was, she could help Team Avatar have an advantage in the Fire Nation.
She had promised her friends it wasn't her, but of course she was lying. They hadn't seemed to catch her yet, and she planned to keep it that way, people needed her.
Once she tiptoed through the hut the gang was sleeping in she made sure to be quiet, especially since Toph could see with her feet, she looked back to make sure they were all okay, then she vanished.
She quickly dashed to the large tower in the middle of the town, though it was heavily guarded, it had information that could turn the tides of the war around.
As she reached the outer streets of the city she knew she had to disguise herself, she lifted up nearby water and waved her fingers through the air causing it to turn to a misty fog, making her even more unnoticeable.
The people of the town knew what the fog meant, she could hear whispers coming from all around her.
Could that be? Why is she coming back? Is she here for us? Is this the Painted Lady?
All these whispers surrounded her until a little girl walked through the fog to her.
"Are you here to hurt the bad guys?" The little girl asked looking up to her with curious eyes. Katara smiled and bent down to the little girl.
"I'm here to help the avatar." Katara whispered back causing the little girl to giggle and smile, Katara lifted her finger to her lips and made a hush sound to her before winking to the little girl as she ran off, disappearing in the fog.
Katara continued to walk waving her arms around to keep the fog up until she stood in front of the gates of the large tower, a sly grin appeared on her face.

The young teen stood on top of a tall tree not too far from the tower, as he narrowed his eyes he saw 2 guards talking in the corner and the rest looked half asleep.
Zuko scoffed to himself, even though the Fire Nation was one of the most powerful nations in the world, they sure didn't act like it sometimes.
He was on a mission to find a scroll that had the plans of Ozai's attack on the Sozen's Comet. If he could somehow get that scroll without getting caught, he can give it to the avatar and then they will for sure let him on their team.
He's tried everything but none of them will budge, especially not that water bender Katara, she hated him the most. The small earth bender tried to help but after Zuko burned her feet, it was a lost cause.
The Fire Prince grabbed his blue spirit mask and tied it so it would stay on his face, he looked down and noticed some fog which was odd to have in the Fire Nation but then again they were surrounded by a river.
