I've never been to an arcade, except that one horrible field trip I went on in middle school. I've never been one for video games really and I'm not sure why. I've liked a few like Minecraft and Sims, maybe because you didn't have to spend 10 hours to finish the game. You can spend as much or as little time as you want. You can create instead of follow. I've always been a creator.
Arcade games are different. I've always thought of them as childish or old. You have to go to an arcade which bothers me. I'd much rather play at home and whenever. I'm pretty sure it's different in South Korea, though. Culture differences and everything.
Seokjin parked his mom van in the parking lot and everyone began to unload themselves from the car.
"Yeah! I'm so excited!" Jimin laughed, "Jungkook! Which game do you want to play first?" Jungkook wrinkled his nose and moved away from Jimin. I noticed their odd relationship and laughed. Yoongi waited for me to get out of the car, patiently.
"What game do you want to play first?" he asked quietly.
"I don't know. I've never been to an arcade before."
Taehyung joined in me and Yoongi's conversation and gaped, "What, really?"
Yoongi seemed annoyed but I smiled. "Yeah, I don't go out much and I'm pretty sure arcades aren't as big as a thing here than they are in South Korea."
"She's right," Yoongi nodded, "We're still getting used to living here."
Inside the arcade looked sort of like a movie theater. It was dark with lots of fluorescent lights and neon colors. Laughter and the sound of coin slots filled the large room. It was loud and I'm not quite sure I liked it. I looked over at Yoongi and noticed his face. He didn't seem to like it here either. That made me feel less of a party-pooper.
"Do you know what you want to play first?" I asked him quietly this time.
He sighed and replied, "There's claw machines in the back. Those take minimum energy."
I laughed and followed him to the back of the arcade and like he said, there were the claw machines. "Win me something," I commanded with a flirty giggle.
Yoongi gave me a smirk, "I'll see what I can do."
He was on his third try now. I was watching eagerly hoping to get this cute black bear. It was the one Yoongi was trying to get, when I started up conversation.
"Are we going to talk about the black notebook and...everything?" I spoke with a quiet voice as I looked at his concentrating face.
"What's there to talk about?" Yoongi asked turning his head to look at me. I stared into his milk chocolate brown eyes.
"I don't know..." I broke the stare and looked away.
"And why do you call it "the black notebook"? It's yours," Yoongi asked.
That question made me look at him again. This time with shocked eyes. "My notebook? I thought it was yours!"
"You're the one who wrote in it first," Yoongi's brow creased with confused.
I was confused too. "What if we started using some poor student's notebook?" I laughed.
Yoongi didn't laugh. His mind was somewhere else when he spoke, "Why did we write in it? I felt drawn to it...almost like we were meant to..." The claw machine sang a song breaking our daze.
Yoongi smiled and pulled out the black bear. Somehow he managed to get it in the heat of our conversation.
"It's so cute!" I smiled, holding the soft bear in my heads.
"It's Kumamon!" Yoongi smiled his adorable gummy smile.
Omg, he smiles like a toddler, I laughed. "I love it!" I sing-songed and clutched the black bear tight against my chest.
