Hey guys this is probably gonna be a pretty short chapter but I just wanted to say if anyone ik irl is reading this book please don't (you'll never look at me the same lmao)

Xienna

My eyes are wide.  The painful numbness that was in my toes temporarily goes away.  I'm not sure if I should look.  It could be anyone but it is definitely a person.

I finally decide to peek out from behind the tree.  I was right.  It is a person.  But what if they try to kill me or something.

They walk with their hands in their pockets, head looking up at the snowy branches.  As I look more closely I realize it's a boy who looks about my age.  All I can tell from here is that he has dark hair that goes to his shoulders.

He walks in the direction away from me, his slender figure in dark clothes contrast against the pure white snow, untouched except for the trail of footprints he leaves behind him.

Then I decide to do something.  I'm gonna follow him.  I don't know why but what else do I have to do.

I run from tree to tree to keep out of sight but I keep a good distance from him.

I observe what he does.  The way he kicked up snow when he walked and how he brushed his bare hand over the tree trunks as he passed them. I found it cute for some reason.  Even though I have no idea who he even is or even seem him up close.

After a while I lose sight of him and decide to head somewhere else.  I guess I'll go to the lake.  It's pretty small but too big to be a pond.

As I'm waking the snow is coming down harder.  Giant flakes of fluffy snow come floating down getting caught in my hair and landing in my eyelashes.

When I get to the lake I see that it is completely frozen over so I walk on it.  I start sliding around on it, aware of how stupid I probably look.

Then I try to slide as far as I can.  I lost my balance but after flailing around I finally catch myself.  I laugh to myself.

Then I do it again.  This time I just fell.  I try twisting around to catch myself but my head slams against the ice.  I hear a loud crack.  I can't think and black spots cloud my vision.  Suddenly the ice cracks again and I plunge into the icy water, vision going completely black.

Wow this was really bad but the next chapter will be more exciting  :)
