Xienna pov

I visit Chandler sometimes every day each week, sometimes in the woods, sometimes at his house but never at mine because of my dad.  We never officially started dating but I call him my boyfriend and he calls me his girlfriend.  I have to say that I've never been so happy in my life.

School just got out two days ago so it lifted a huge weight off my chest.

I sit at the kitchen counter finishing off my sandwich when my phone buzzes.  I pick it up to see a text from Chandler.  "Babe meet me?" it read.  I reply with a simple "k" and take the last few bites of my sandwich.

My dad isn't home (like usual) probably out drinking but I couldn't care less about him.

When Chandler says to meet him there is a huge old tree full of knots that we both go to.  The tree is very distinguished so it's a good meeting spot.

I head out the door and a warm breeze hits my face.  It is summer and now the scenery that was once pure white is a lush green color.  Sun comes through the leaves on the trees as they calmly rustle in the wind. Rich green moss covers the smooth grey rocks.  I take in my surroundings as I make my way to our meeting spot.

As the tree appears in the distance I see Chandler leaning against it.  His head looking up towards the sky.  Once I reach it he gives me a big smile.  I can't help but smile back.

He pulls me into a big hug and says, "Happy birthday baby."

"Oh my gosh I completely forgot.  I literally had no idea."

"17" he says as if I forgot how old I am too.

I laugh and press my forehead against his.  He kisses me and I feel him smile against my lips.

When he pulls away he tells me, "I have something for you."

"You really got something for me?"

"Yes of course" he says, pulling a small box out of his pocket.

He hands me the box and I untie the the tiny ribbon on the top.  I open it and see a beautiful necklace inside.  I gasp as I pull it out.  It has a delicate silver chain and a small blue crystal dangling from it.  I look over at Chandler.  He has a smile on his lips and his cheeks are pink.

"I love it so much" I tell him.

"Could you help me put it on?"

"Sure" he walks up behind me and clasps the necklace around my neck.

"Thank you."

Chandler just smiles in acknowledgement.  He has never seemed nervous until now and it only made me love him more.

We both sit down under the tree, our backs against the rough bark.

"I know a necklace is kind of unoriginal but I thought it would look pretty on you." Chandler says.

"No no I love it."  I pick up the blue crystal and watch it catch the sunlight.
