CHAPTER 5: WIN! WIN! WIN! THAT’S MY GOAL

At the auditorium, I was sitting tensely at a chair on the stage and in-front of me was the president seriously staring at me. I feel like there’s gonna be a lacer firing towards me in a second.

Can I really win? This contest is just extreme. I mean me and it’s like the whole student body is watching. Kaoru-kun suddenly caught my attention, his sitting on the first row together with the others.

“Wow! Their supporting me!” I exclaim. “I mean look at them, Kanon-chan isn’t reading her book, So-chan is not eating cakes, Shin-kun’s not drinking tea, Kazuma-sempai is watching and best of all Kaoru-kun isn’t sleeping at all. I must really win this competition”

“Now the duel between Hibari Shizuka, the student body president and Lady Otani Yuni-sama, the new student of the Moon class”

So her name is Shizuka, it’s really cute and cool, the name really suits her. From now on I’ll call her Shizuka-san.

“Hey!” she suddenly said. “Why did you not address me with lady and sama?” she glared at the announcer.

Was that really important?

“Sorry, its part of the script and the story.” the announcer said.

“Darn! Even the writer supports these bastards! I must really work hard to obtain her respect.”

Kyouhei suddenly caught our attention; he was raising a banner with my name written on it.

So this is what it feels like when everyone’s supporting you. I must really win so as not to put shame and embarrassment to them.

“You can do it idiot! I just know you can!” kyouhei shouted.

I just nodded and gave him a peace sign.

“This is so disturbing.”  The president, I mean shizuka-san said hastily.

It’s a heart throbbing duel. I have to defeat someone as smart and as strong as her. All of them are supporting me. And most of all this is special, kazuma sempai helped me a lot and worked hard for me so that I could defeat shizuka-san. I’m going to give my victory to them!

Wow! The game is going smoothly. I’m winning, and the president hadn’t scored against me yet. This is the very first time I felt like this.

“The score now is 99 points for yuni-sama and 0 points for shizuka-san.”

“Hey!” here she goes again.

“What’s with the sama? Is there any discrimination here?”

“Like I told you, just complain to the writer.”

But what is this I’m ninety-nine and shizuka-san’s zero? And yet she’s still smiling?”

“The final question…this question contains a hundred points, so the one who could answer this is the winner.” The announcer said.

“What!? But I’ve worked hard for the ninety-nine points and yet it’s still no use.” I suddenly looked at the first row, “Waaah! Kaoru-kun is seriously watching me and the others as well.”

“I have to show kaoru-kun what I can do.” I nodded.

“Now the final question is…what must you do to prepare for this kind of contest?” the announcer asked.

Kazuma-sempai’s words suddenly flashed back to my ears. This question, I’m sure that kazuma sempai had told me the answer last night. I was about to press the buzzer but the president got it first.
