Detective Shaw arrived within minutes, but it felt like hours. I had curled up in a corner of the kitchen, after taping the Reaper's hands and mouth with masking tape. He laid on his side, glaring at me with his dark eyes. Shaw kneeled beside me, "Miss Berkley? Would you like to go outside with Sergeant Chase? She'll look after you till we clear this up."

I nodded and sat out on the front porch with the Sergeant, she was blonde and looked small in her blue shirt that hung on her petite body. She looked a little unsettled, more than I was.

"Um, are you ok?"

She nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm more worried about you."

"I handled it.. Surprisingly."

"You're very lucky. These guys don't usually get taken down that easily."

"These guys? How many are there?"

"Who knows. What I'm more interested in is how you got on their radar. They don't take anyone out unless someone wants them to."

"How do you know all this? I know you're a cop and all but I didn't think you'd know more about this than the detective."

"Personal experience..." Her voice trailed off as her eyes turned to the ground. For a moment, her face changed, her skin was replaced with black feathers as her mouth and nose merged together to create a yellow beak. I drew in a sharp breath, catching her attention, her eyes widened as her face turned back to normal she stood up, fear covering her face and eyes.

"You-you're, a Grimm."

I stood up, holding my hands up, "Calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you. Hell, I don't even know what I am."

Chase managed to slow her breathing before hyperventilating, "You really don't know, do you?"

I shook my head, "Please, could you tell me? I need to know why a Reaper tried to kill me."

She sat back beside me, although she kept her distance, "You're a Grimm. Grimm's aren't exactly human, nor are they classified as wesen." (ve-sen)

"Wesen?"

"That's what creatures from my side of this world is called. However, there are all different types of species."

"What are you?"

"I'm a Steinadlern." (styn-ahd-lər)

"So you're part bird?"

She huffed, obviously offended, "Eagle, if you must."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend."

She waved her hand, "Too late now."

I decided to move on, "So if I'm not human and not wesen, what am I?"

"No one knows."

"Well, that's helpful."

Chase shrugged, "All we know is that anyone of Grimm blood can see us, whether we want to be seen or not."

"Why are wesen so afraid of me? Whenever I see one, mind you most of the time I thought I was going nuts, they ran away scared shitless."

"Grimm's had always hunted and killed wesen. The Grimm's with good morals only hunted and killed those of us who had attacked and harmed, or even killed, humans. Others simply hated wesen and killed them for the hell of it."

I nodded in understanding, "That explains so much."

Shaw stepped outside, "All fixed up."

I stood up, "Thank you so much."

"We'll take him in and let you know of any progressions."

"I'd appreciate that."

Shaw nodded and headed towards his black car as sergeant's lead the Reaper from my house in hand cuffs, the tape removed from his mouth.

"Don't get comfortable. You'll be dead by tonight."

I glared at him as he was forced to leave my property, Chase looked at me, uncertainty clouded her face, "If you want, I can run regular checks past your house. Make sure nothings out of the ordinary. You might be a Grimm, but I don't think you're that much of a threat, not yet anyway."

As much as that last part stung me, I was still grateful, "I'd appreciate, thank you."

She nodded and turned to walk away.

"Um, could I ask you a favour?"

She turned back, "Depends on what it is."

"If you find out anything from the Reaper, that Shaw won't tell me, could you let me know? I wanna know everything I can about this son of a bitch."

She nodded, "I'll try."

I guess a try is better than a no.
