At 12:00 Emily got a call from their local hospital.

"Hello, this is Stephany from St. Lukes Hospital. Your husband, Jasper, is here. Apparently, their fire Chief, Otto, hit a brick wall at a dead end on a call. All of the men in the fire truck have passed away accept Jasper and their chief. You are a very lucky woman, we got there right in time, he was bleeding out, but our paramedics found him before he passed out."

"Oh my god. When can I visit him?" Emily practically yelled through the phone.

"He's still asleep, we had to sedate him so we could perform surgery. Jasper's ribs are badly bruised, his arm is broken, and his abdomen was ripped. That's why we had to perform emergency surgery, we stitched up Jasper's abdomen muscle. He will be in extreme pain when he wakes up from sedation," Stephany explained calmly.

"But when can I visit?" Emily asked again in a rush.

"In fifteen minutes. And what is your name ma'am?"

"Emily, Emily [whoops I don't know Jasper's last name, feel free to edit in in my Jemily writers]."

"Thank you. See you in fifteen Emily!" Stephany added in a cheerful tone.

Emily hung up. She dashed up the stairs and opened the closet door. Emily grabbed a crop top and black jeans, dashing back out of the closet with her outfit in her hands. She threw on a lace bra and matching black lace panties. Emily stepped into the jeans and put on the crop top heading into their large bathroom.

She sat down on the chair, grabbing her makeup bag and unzipping the zipper. Emily looked in the mirror.

"Only the fundamentals," she told herself out loud.

Emily applied foundation, spreading it across her face evenly. Then, she gently brushed mascara on her eyelashes. Lastly, she brushed on the blush, making her cheeks rosy pink.

When Emily was finished with her makeup the time was 12:10. She threw on black heels, grabbed her purse and ran out the door, almost tripping on the way.

Emily started the car. She backed out of their driveway and sped off onto the road that led to the highway. Emily didn't care that she was speeding, this was urgent, her husband was at the hospital and her daughter was missing. Well, not really missing but with Mr. Harmon, probably the worst man to have their daughter. God knows what he would do with their baby before the game. Torture her, starve her, or worse, kill her. Even though the note said that they would keep her safe, Mr. Harmon tends to lie. That's why Emily had to get Jasper out of the hospital so they could get Ruby back home.

Before she knew it, Emily was at the hospital. She parked her car in the front row, for there was a spot open conveniently. Grabbing her purse, Emily dashed out of the car and into the hospital.

"Sir, so you know where Jasper [what is is last name again?] is?" Emily was at the front desk, asking the man where her husband was.

"Room 318, and are you Emily [* forgets last name for the umpteenth time]?" He asked her back.

"Yea, thanks sir!" Emily rushed off to find room 318.

She sped walked once she entered the
300's. Once she found the room Jasper was in, she silently prayed he was awake so she could tell him about Ruby.

"Poor Ruby.." Emily whispered as she opened the sliding glass door, hoping that her precious baby was still safe.

"E-Emily?" Jasper croaked from the corner. Emily almost cried, he looked terrible. Her husband had so many wires and tubes connected to him, you could barely see his left arm. Jasper was so pale you could mistake him for a ghost. He also had a oxygen mask on and his breath sounded twice as loud as in normally should.

"Honey, you look terrible..." she slowly walked toward him, gently taking the only hand that wasn't covered in medical appliances, giving it a small squeeze.

"I kno-" Jasper's words were cut off by himself screaming. His face screwed up in pain and he thrashed around, as if he was fighting an invisible enemy.

The doctors rushed in frantically, pressing a large needle into his neck.

"Calm down, calm down," Emily soothed him, kissing his cheek gently, avoiding the bruises. The nurses lifted up his shirt, revealing a ton of stitches along his lower chest. Emily almost screamed at what she saw.

A large centipede, almost as wide as two fingers put together, and at least two hands long, crawled out of the stitches. One of the nurses frantically grabbed a pair of tweezers, lifting it off of Jasper's stitches and setting the bug in a glass jar next to Jasper's hospital bed. She then rushed back to Jasper, prodding the inflamed area around his stitches.

Even though the nurses partially numbed Jasper's entire body, he let out another cry of pain. More centipedes crawled out of the stitches, covering his entire chest in a few seconds. The nurses gasped, one running to the phone and the others trying to pick them up and set them in the glass jar like they did with the first centipede.

Large tears streamed from Jasper's eyes. A doctor rushed in and gasped at the sight. He unhooked the wheels from the hospital bed, sedated Jasper once more, and pushed the bed out of the door.

So much for telling him about Ruby.
