It was a pretty October day and it was just a few days before Halloween. A lovely couple had just moved into the house next to Mr. Whindle. This new couple was Kynittla and Bobbi Cross. Bobbi was from Scotland, and Kynittla was from Finland. The two had been married for over five years, and they had their ups and downs like any married couple did. The house they had moved into was in a little cute neighborhood in Ohio. The house itself was brick, dark roofed, red door and window frames, and it had three big red oak trees in the front yard.

One the lovely couple had gotten into a fight only a few weeks into living in Ohio. The two had been fighting about how they had left without telling most of their family about their plan. “Bobbi, they would have liked to know why we had left. Heck I don’t even know why we had left Sweden!” snapped Kynittla very upset with her husband.

“It was for our health remember, and not only that we came out here to start a new life away from all the mean people who made our life horrible over there.” said Bobbi trying to explain to his wife again why they had moved.

In a way Kynittla knew the answer to why they had moved, but she had wanted to tell her family before they had actually moved. She didn’t feel right with how they had just gotten up and left one day. She would have been calling her family and telling them where she was now, but she had lost her phone book during the move. “Bobbi, I don’t get it! Why can’t you just call your mother for a little help right now?” she asked already knowing the answer to this as well.

“I am not giving into her just yet Kynittla. She’ll make fun of us, and then before you know she’ll come here and take our stuff like the greedy old lady that she is.” Bobbi pulled his figures through his hair and trying to keep his cool and not yell at Kynittla. He too was having a little bit of trouble with this move. After all they got it for a very amazing price.

Kynittla left the house and decided to go meet their neighbors. As Bobbi was digging through their last boxes trying to find the phone book or some piece of paper with a friend or family number on it. As Kynittla started to walk to the front of her yard and to her gate she picked to go left and start with those houses. The other houses seemed so pretty and brighter then her’s, but then she saw a houses only two away that looked just like her’s. She walked up to it and she began to hear a old classic song from the 1930’s or 40’s playing inside the home. When she got to the door she saw the window was open and she heard the song and it was “We’ll meet again” By Vera Lynn. Kynittla grinned at the song because it was her favorite song. “Good song,” she whispered as she knocked on the door.

A few mintues pass and right as Kynittla was about to knock again the door opened. Standing in the doorway in her surprise was a man who looked to be from the 1950’s standing in there with the door open. “Hello, miss,” said the man with a nice side smile, “how are you this fine day?”

Kynittla smiled back, “Good, and you?”

“Good,” answered the man, “My name is David Whindle, but you can call me Mr. Whindle.”

“Alright,” said Kynittla amazed by the man. “My name is Kynittla Cross. I moved in a few days ago. I live next door to you.”

Mr. Whindle nodded and smiled, “Would you care to come in and see my little home, since you’re here? I think you’ll like it.”

Kynittla couldn’t help herself and agree to go inside the house and check it out. She main wanted to see if the man was just a roleplayer and was just dressing up, but she was blown away. She saw he had the full 1950’s house design all the way down to the little details of carvings on the fireplace. She was so amazed by the sight of the place she had almost found herself crying over it.
